     John settled in Wethersfield and was selectman in 1679. He removed to Windsor and was chosen Deputy to the General Court in 1698 and subsequently. John Wolcott was born on 28 February 1644. He was the son of Henry Wolcott and Sarah Newberry. John Wolcott married Mary Chester, daughter of Capt. John Chester, on 13 February 1677. John Wolcott died on 23 January 1711 or 1712.

Annie Goodrich Ellsworth1

     Annie sent the famous first telegraph message "What Hath God Wrought" on 24 May 1844. Annie Goodrich Ellsworth was born on 5 January 1826. She was the daughter of Hon. Henry Leavitt Ellsworth and Nancy Allen Goodrich. Annie Goodrich Ellsworth married Roswell Chamberlain Smith, son of Asher Ladd Smith and Wealthy Pratt, on 5 July 1852 at Lafayette, Tippecanoe Co., IN. Annie Goodrich Ellsworth died on 21 January 1900 at age 74.
