     William Safford was born in April 1837.¹ He married Nancy Holcombe, daughter of Levi Holcombe Jr. and Harriet Elliott. William Safford died in 1909.

     Charles Leroy Safford was born on 14 October 1877. He was the son of William Safford and Nancy Holcombe. Charles Leroy Safford married Bertha Mae Holcombe, daughter of Sherman Holcombe and Charlotte A, (?). Charles Leroy Safford died in 1954.

Charles and Bertha were enumerated in the household of her father Sherman in the 1910 Annin, McKean Co., PA, federal census. Charles was a farmer, age 33, she was 25. The only child in the household was Nancy F. 1 year 11 months.

Charles and Bertha Mae were enumerated in the 1920 Annin, McKean Co., PA, federal census. He was a farmer age 42, she was 34. Children in the household were Fern 11, Lawrence 6, Paulne 3 years 11 months, and Lyle 3 months. Bertha's father Sherman age 83 was also in the household.

Charles and B. Mae were enumerated in the 1930 Annin, Mckean Co., PA, federal census. He was a farmer, age 51, she was 46. Children in the household were Lawrence 17, Pauline 14, Victor 13, Lyle 10, and edna 8.

     Fred W. Safford was born in March 1874. He was the son of William Safford and Nancy Holcombe. Fred W. Safford died in 1920.

     Blanche Safford was born in February 1869 at PA.¹ She was the daughter of William Safford and Nancy Holcombe. Blanche Safford married Earnest Heysham circa 1890.¹ Blanche Safford married Fred Bly. Blanche Safford died in 1938.

     Girdeon Safford was also known as Gideon Safford. He was born in October 1872. He was the son of William Safford and Nancy Holcombe. Girdeon Safford married Nettie Brown. Girdeon Safford died before 1930.

Guirdeon and Nettie were enumerated in the 1920 Olean, Cattaraugus Co., NY, federal census. He was a foreman at a tannery co., age 46, she was 34. Children in the household were Frank 18, and Helen 4 years 7 months.

     Nettie Brown was born circa 1886. She married Girdeon Safford, son of William Safford and Nancy Holcombe.

     Frank Safford was born circa 1902. He was the son of Girdeon Safford and Nettie Brown.

Frank L. and Mary A. were enumerated in the 1930 Niagara Falls, Niagara Co., NY, federal census. He was a service station attendant, age 27, she was 27. The only child in the household was Mary J.

     Capt. Job Bradford was born circa 1726.¹ He was the son of Gershom Bradford and Priscilla Wiswall.² Capt. Job Bradford died on 29 April 1790 at Boston, Suffolk Co., MA.¹

Job was captured by a Spanish privateer while a passnger on the schooner Success, on its way from Georgia to Rhode Island, He and others were released in a small, leaky boat two days later, and managed to make their way to shore. ³

On another occasion Job ran onto a sunken wreck while crusing up the Gulf Stream, and thereby lost his own Betsey. Fortunately, as she sank she was spotted by Capt. James Brattle of Boston, who rescued Capt. Job and others, and carried them home. ³

In still another adventure, Capt. Job's brigantine Charlotte was captured by the Salem privateer Revenge. ³

     Gershom Bradford was born on 21 December 1691 at Plymouth, Plymouth Co., MA.¹ He was the son of Samuel Bradford and Hannah Rogers.² Gershom Bradford married Priscilla Wiswall on 23 October 1716 at Plymouth, Plymouth Co., MA. Gershom Bradford died on 4 April 1757 at Bristol, RI, at age 65.¹

     Samuel Bradford was born circa 1667 at Plymouth, Plymouth Co., MA.¹ He was the son of Major William Bradford and Alice Richards.² Samuel Bradford married Hannah Rogers, daughter of John Rogers Jr. and Elizabeth Pabodie, on 31 July 1689 at Plymouth, Plymouth Co., MA.¹ Samuel Bradford died on 11 April 1714 at Duxbury, Plymouth Co., MA.¹

     Lawrence Safford was born on 1 March 1913.¹ He was the son of Charles Leroy Safford and Bertha Mae Holcombe. Lawrence Safford died on 20 April 1993 at Smethport, McKean Co., PA, at age 80.¹

     Victor Safford was born on 25 June 1917.¹ He was the son of Charles Leroy Safford and Bertha Mae Holcombe. Victor Safford died in September 1984 at Port Allegany, McKean Co., PA, at age 67.¹

     Bertha Mae Holcombe was born in 1884. She was the daughter of Sherman Holcombe and Charlotte A, (?) Bertha Mae Holcombe married Charles Leroy Safford, son of William Safford and Nancy Holcombe. Bertha Mae Holcombe died in 1958.

     Lyle R. Safford was born on 19 July 1919.¹ He was the son of Charles Leroy Safford and Bertha Mae Holcombe. Lyle R. Safford died on 3 January 1992 at age 72.¹

     Fred Bly was born in May 1870 at PA.¹ He married Blanche Safford, daughter of William Safford and Nancy Holcombe. Fred Bly died on 14 January 1950 at age 79.

Fred and Blanche were enumerated in the 1910 Ceres, McKean Co., PA federal census. He was a farmer age 49, she was 41. The only child in the household was Maynard G., 3. Also enumerated were mother Elizabeth Bly, 72, and boarder Hattie Heysham, 19.

Fred and Blanche were enumerated in the 1920 Shinglehouse, Potter Co., PA. He was a blacksmith in a glass factory, age 50, she was 50. Children in the household were Hattie Heysham, 29, and Maynard Bly 13.

Fred and Blanche were enumerated in the 1930 Shinglehouse, Potter Co., PA federal census. He was 60, a laborer on an oil lease, she was 61. The only child in the household was Hattie Heysham. 39.

     Nancy Fern Safford was born circa 1908.¹ She was the daughter of Charles Leroy Safford and Bertha Mae Holcombe.¹

     Earnest Heysham was born on 11 May 1868. He married Blanche Safford, daughter of William Safford and Nancy Holcombe, circa 1890.¹ Earnest Heysham died on 12 August 1900 at age 32.

     Maynard K. Bly was born circa 1907 at PA. He was the son of Fred Bly and Blanche Safford.

     Ernest Heysham was born in 1896. He was the son of Earnest Heysham and Blanche Safford. Ernest Heysham died in 1900.

     Priscilla Wiswall was born on 25 July 1690 at Duxbury, Plymouth Co., MA.¹ She married Gershom Bradford, son of Samuel Bradford and Hannah Rogers, on 23 October 1716 at Plymouth, Plymouth Co., MA. Priscilla Wiswall died on 12 September 1780 at Duxbury, MA, at age 90.¹
