     Howard Stanley Rogers was born on 18 November 1841 at Unionville, CT. He was the son of Samuel Rogers and Cordelia Cowdery. Howard Stanley Rogers married Hannah Barber, daughter of Alson Barber and Hannah Humphrey, on 6 December 1865 at Canton, Hartford Co., CT. Howard Stanley Rogers died on 12 February 1894 at age 52.

     Solomon Ervin Whiting was born on 29 January 1828.¹ He was the son of Solomon Whiting and Eunice (?). Solomon Ervin Whiting married Martha Jane Barber, daughter of Alson Barber and Hannah Humphrey, on 29 January 1861.¹ Solomon Ervin Whiting died on 16 January 1908 at age 79.¹

     Henry J. Hayes was born on 15 October 1862 at West Granby, Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹ He was the son of Linus N. Hayes and Candace Eliza Viets.¹ Henry J. Hayes married Elnora M. Wilcox, daughter of Augustine Wilcox and Marina Sarah Holcombe, on 28 March 1888.¹

     Levi Gillett was born circa 1770 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹ He was the son of Nathan Gillett and Dorcas Holcombe. Levi Gillett married Permelia Cotton. Levi Gillett died on 14 March 1856 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.² He was buried at Center Cemetery, Granby, Hartford Co., CT; Lot V-46.²

     Permelia Cotton married Levi Gillett, son of Nathan Gillett and Dorcas Holcombe. Permelia Cotton died on 26 July 1848.¹ She was buried at Center Cemetery, Granby, Hartford Co., CT; Lot V-46.²

     Samuel Platt Whitney was born on 8 November 1775 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.^1,2 He was the son of Uriah Whitney and Martha Hart. Samuel Platt Whitney married Lois Buttolph, daughter of Jonathan Buttolph and Lois Viets, on 11 March 1799 at North Granby, Granby, Hartford Co., CT.^2,1 Samuel Platt Whitney died on 15 December 1871 at Montville, OH, at age 96.^1,2

     Lois Buttolph was born on 18 March 1782 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.^1,2 She was the daughter of Jonathan Buttolph and Lois Viets.¹ Lois Buttolph married Samuel Platt Whitney, son of Uriah Whitney and Martha Hart, on 11 March 1799 at North Granby, Granby, Hartford Co., CT.^1,2 Lois Buttolph died in 1875 at Montville, OH.^1,2

Lois and Samuel settled in Montville, Ohio, in 1834. In 1870 they celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary at the home of their son John Viets Whiteny. At that time they had nine living children, forty-one living grndchildren, and fifty-six great grandchildren. Mr. Whitney was a farmer and served in the War of 1812.³

      Jonathan Buttolph was also known as Jonathan Buttles. He was born on 10 November 1747 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.¹ He was the son of Capt. Jonathan Buttolph and Jerusha Dibble. Jonathan Buttolph married Lois Viets, daughter of Capt. John Viets and Lois Phelps, on 25 April 1768 at Newgate, Simsbury, CT.¹ Jonathan Buttolph died on 13 December 1823 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT, at age 76.¹

Jonathan occupied the home farm at the "wedge of land" adjoining Simsbury on the north, which became Granby in 1786. For a time he conducted a hotel there. He served in the Revolution as a sergeant in his father's company of the 18th Regiment from August 18 to September 6, 1776; was made Ensign of Captain John Rice's Company in October 1780 and Lieutenant in May 1781.²

     Oliver Griffin was born on 12 February 1788.¹ He was the son of Stephen Griffin. Oliver Griffin married Achsah Viets, daughter of Capt. James Viets and Elizabeth Brown.¹ Oliver Griffin died on 16 February 1862 at age 74.¹

     Achsah Viets was born on 28 June 1785 at Copper Hill, Simsbury, CT.¹ She was the daughter of Capt. James Viets and Elizabeth Brown. Achsah Viets married Oliver Griffin, son of Stephen Griffin.¹ Achsah Viets died on 17 December 1869 at Copper Hill, East Granby, Hartford Co., CT, at age 84.¹

     William Lorenzo Hayes Jr. was born on 1 December 1849 at West Granby, Granby, Hartford Co., CT.^1,2 He was the son of William Lorenzo Hayes and Candace Eliza Viets. William Lorenzo Hayes Jr. married Ida May Emmons, daughter of Warren Emmons and Altimona Emmons, on 26 March 1875.² William Lorenzo Hayes Jr. died on 26 October 1919 at East Hartland, Hartford Co., CT, at age 69.^1,2
