     Silas Richardson MD was born on 4 September 1819 at Delaware Co., OH.1,2 He was the son of Ralph Richardson and Dorcas Humphrey.1 Silas Richardson MD died on 30 July 1849 at Waterloo, Monroe Co., IL, at age 29.1

Silas was brought up by his grandmother, Dorcas (Case) Humphrey. He was a self-made and well-educated young man, and a successful teacher. He studied medicine, graduated M.D. from Kemper College, St. Louis, Mo., in March, 1849, and settled in practice in Waterloo, Ill. He was very successful, especially in the epidemic of Asiatic cholera of that year; contracted the disease himself, and was convalescent from it, when, against his own discretion, he yielded to importunities to attend a case of the disease before he was sufficiently recovered, which induced a relapse, of which he died the next day. They had no children. His widow is said to have married James Owen, of Waterloo, Ill., and to have removed to Missouri.

     Ralph Irvin Richardson was born on 1 October 1821 at Delaware Co., OH.1,2 He was the son of Ralph Richardson and Dorcas Humphrey.1

After the death of his parents, Ralph resided with hsi aunt, Mrs. Laura Clark. In early life he was successfully engaged in teaching, and was for some time so employed in the South. In 1883 he was a thrifty farmer residing at Iowa City, Iowa.
