     Edward Raymond Spring was born on 31 August 1890.¹ He was the son of Lewis Spring and Flora Susan Griffin.¹ Edward Raymond Spring died on 6 May 1914 at age 23.¹

     Louisa Case was born in August 1803. She was the daughter of Charles Case III and Abigail Griswold.

     William Trumbull Case was born on 12 May 1807. He was the son of Charles Case III and Abigail Griswold. William Trumbull Case married Olive Chamberlain, daughter of Moses Chamberlain and Polly Chandler, on 1 January 1832 at Gibson, Susquehanna Co., PA. William Trumbull Case died on 24 November 1879 at Gibson, Susquehanna Co., PA, at age 72.

     Olive Chamberlain was born on 30 March 1813. She was the daughter of Moses Chamberlain and Polly Chandler. Olive Chamberlain married William Trumbull Case, son of Charles Case III and Abigail Griswold, on 1 January 1832 at Gibson, Susquehanna Co., PA. Olive Chamberlain died on 2 March 1877 at Gibson, Susquehanna Co., PA, at age 63.

     Truman Leroy Case was born on 9 May 1836. He was the son of William Trumbull Case and Olive Chamberlain.

     Melvina Eleanor Case was born on 8 February 1838.¹ She was the daughter of William Trumbull Case and Olive Chamberlain.¹

     Zelia Rosette Case was born on 4 May 1840.¹ She was the daughter of William Trumbull Case and Olive Chamberlain.¹ Zelia Rosette Case died on 28 January 1846 at age 5.¹

     Zelia Albertine Case was born on 11 November 1848.¹ She was the daughter of William Trumbull Case and Olive Chamberlain.¹

     Elam Treadwell Case was born on 12 May 1807. He was the son of Charles Case III and Abigail Griswold. Elam Treadwell Case married Melita Dow, daughter of Charles Joseph Dow and Olive Cobb, in 1833 at Preston, PA. Elam Treadwell Case died on 18 June 1884 at Preston, PA, at age 77.

     Melita Dow was born on 9 March 1802 at Deerfield, Franklin Co., MA. She was the daughter of Charles Joseph Dow and Olive Cobb. Melita Dow married Elam Treadwell Case, son of Charles Case III and Abigail Griswold, in 1833 at Preston, PA. Melita Dow died on 7 January 1899 at Jackson, PA, at age 96.

      Charles Joseph Dow was also known as Joseph Dow.¹ He was born on 12 December 1779.¹ He was the son of Joseph Dow and Elizabeth Cummings.¹ Charles Joseph Dow married Olive Cobb, daughter of Perez Cobb and Abiah Richmond, on 3 November 1799.¹ Charles Joseph Dow died on 22 June 1852 at age 72.²

Joseph lost his mother at age of 3, brought up by her family. A blue-eyed youth of mild manners, he acquired a taste for reading and music; at 20 teaching school in West Brookfield, adding a little income by an evening singing school. Olive Cobb was black-eyed, tall, handsome, and like her father, very "sot in her ways." Singing school and teacher, 2 in hand to ask the consent of the old folks. No fault could be found with Joseph except his youth and lack of money. Perez said no emphatically. They married and a few days later they returned to seek forgiveness and a temporary home on the Cobb farm. Perez crossed Olive's name out of the family Bible and made a new will. He'd show her, by heck, what filial obedience meant. He never relented; 41 years later his son Joseph died a bachelor and intestate. A son of Olive drove with his bride from Pennsylvania to Brookfield and collected Olive's share of the inheritance, several hundred dollars, then much needed by the old folks.


West Brookfield was thenceforth a closed book; the young couple packed their entire earthly possessions in a carpet bag, mounted the horse which Joseph had bought with every penny saved from singing school, and started for Pennsylvania, where they imagined teaching prospects were better. Preston offered them a haven; Joseph captured the school. It paid poor wages, but Joseph was useful in many ways. He played the fiddle and could pitch the tune, so he led the choir. He had a small library of English classics, out of which he found euphonious names, --Joseph, Addison, Charles Grandison, etc., applied freely to his own and to others' grandchildren. He knew about faries, Jack of Bean stock fame, and Red Riding Hood, and wove them into his school primer. Everybody liked him, but the glass factory at Bethany was needed to supply a living, for himself and later his children. Education of them cost every penny that Joseph could save and he gave the best he could. All of them taught school at some time, the oldest also a preacher. Of 10 children, 7 grew up, all inheriting musical, mathematical or artistic talents. Three were dark, stern, arbitrary, --the Cobb inheritance. Four blue-eyed, gentle, lovable, --next editions of Joseph Dow.

     Olive Cobb was born on 12 May 1777.¹ She was the daughter of Perez Cobb and Abiah Richmond.¹ Olive Cobb married Charles Joseph Dow, son of Joseph Dow and Elizabeth Cummings, on 3 November 1799.¹ Olive Cobb died on 5 October 1858 at age 81.²

     Olive Abigail Case was born on 9 February 1835.¹ She was the daughter of Elam Treadwell Case and Melita Dow.¹ Olive Abigail Case married William Roberts Baker on 9 February 1853.² Olive Abigail Case died on 17 May 1867 at age 32.²

     Sophia Dimmick Case was born on 19 December 1836.¹ She was the daughter of Elam Treadwell Case and Melita Dow.¹ Sophia Dimmick Case married Ellis Tyler on 2 July 1859.² Sophia Dimmick Case married Jasper J. Savory on 15 August 1868.² Sophia Dimmick Case died on 24 March 1904 at age 67.²

     Philena Melita Case was born on 18 February 1839.¹ She was the daughter of Elam Treadwell Case and Melita Dow.¹ Philena Melita Case married Luther Carpenter.² Philena Melita Case died on 25 December 1866 at age 27.²

     George William Case was born on 19 March 1841.¹ He was the son of Elam Treadwell Case and Melita Dow.¹ George William Case married Anna R. Moore on 19 March 1862.² George William Case died on 17 December 1872 at age 31.²

     Julia S. Case was born on 4 May 1843. She was the daughter of Elam Treadwell Case and Melita Dow. Julia S. Case died on 28 November 1862 at age 19.

     Charles Joseph Case was born on 19 November 1845.¹ He was the son of Elam Treadwell Case and Melita Dow.¹ Charles Joseph Case married Olive J. Carpenter on 12 August 1867.²

     Robert Bruce Case was born on 28 February 1848.¹ He was the son of Elam Treadwell Case and Melita Dow.¹ Robert Bruce Case married Content Ferris on 18 October 1880.²

     Virgil Tallman Case was born on 6 July 1850.¹ He was the son of Elam Treadwell Case and Melita Dow.¹ Virgil Tallman Case married Adele (?).²

     Horace Riley Case was born on 7 November 1853.¹ He was the son of Elam Treadwell Case and Melita Dow.¹ Horace Riley Case married Kenia Arvilla Bryant on 24 March 1880.²

     Ella Louise Case was born on 6 April 1855.¹ She was the daughter of Elam Treadwell Case and Melita Dow.¹ Ella Louise Case married Edson A. Barrett on 22 August 1875.² Ella Louise Case died on 27 September 1912 at age 57.²

     Eva Elouisa Case was born on 6 April 1855.¹ She was the daughter of Elam Treadwell Case and Melita Dow.¹ Eva Elouisa Case married Charles D. Corey on 27 September 1877.²

     Horace Griswold Case was born on 30 April 1808.¹ He was the son of Charles Case III and Abigail Griswold.¹ Horace Griswold Case died on 9 August 1872 at age 64.¹

     Mary Hayden was born on 28 September 1688.¹ She was the daughter of Lt. Daniel Hayden and Hannah Willcockson.¹ Mary Hayden died on 31 October 1708 at age 20.¹

     Daniel Hayden was born on 27 August 1703. He was the son of Daniel Hayden and Elizabeth Gibbs. Daniel Hayden married Esther Moore on 31 December 1735. Daniel Hayden died circa 1790.

     Esther Moore was born say 1709. She married Daniel Hayden, son of Daniel Hayden and Elizabeth Gibbs, on 31 December 1735. Esther Moore died on 2 November 1747.

     Samuel Hayden was born on 22 October 1738. He was the son of Samuel Hayden and Abigal Hall. Samuel Hayden died on 14 December 1743 at age 5.

     Augustin Hayden was born on 24 August 1740 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Samuel Hayden and Abigal Hall. Augustin Hayden married Cynthea Filer, daughter of Jeremiah Filer and Jerusha Kelsey, on 7 December 1769. Augustin Hayden died on 24 February 1823 at Torrington, Litchfield Co., CT, at age 82.

     Dr. Moses Hayden was born on 23 September 1742. He was the son of Samuel Hayden and Abigal Hall. Dr. Moses Hayden married Eunice Haroon circa 1766. Dr. Moses Hayden married Martha Leland. Dr. Moses Hayden died on 28 June 1813 at Canandaigua, Ontario Co., NY, at age 70.

     Abigail Hayden was born on 21 December 1745. She was the daughter of Samuel Hayden and Abigal Hall.

     Samuel Hayden was born on 17 January 1748. He was the son of Samuel Hayden and Abigal Hall. Samuel Hayden died in June 1838 at age 90.

     Aaron Hayden was born on 4 March 1750; Hayden lists his birth in one place as March, another as May. He was the son of Samuel Hayden and Abigal Hall. Aaron Hayden died on 11 August 1804 at Port Byron, NY, at age 54.

     Luke Hayden was born on 7 June 1752. He was the son of Samuel Hayden and Abigal Hall. Luke Hayden died on 22 March 1756 at age 3.

     Seth Hayden was born on 2 April 1756. He was the son of Samuel Hayden and Abigal Hall.

     Anna Hayden was born on 6 June 1737. She was the daughter of Deacon Nathaniel Hayden and Naomi Gaylord.

     Capt. Hayden commanded a company from Windsor at the Lexington Alarm. He was with the Army at the evacuation of New York, and in 1778, aided in repelling the advance of the enemy up the Hudson. Capt. Nathaniel Hayden was born on 14 December 1738. He was the son of Deacon Nathaniel Hayden and Naomi Gaylord. Capt. Nathaniel Hayden married Anna Filer on 13 September 1763. Capt. Nathaniel Hayden married Rhoda Lyman in 1778. Capt. Nathaniel Hayden died on 17 May 1795 at age 56.

     Hezekiah Hayden was born on 24 April 1741. He was the son of Deacon Nathaniel Hayden and Naomi Gaylord. Hezekiah Hayden married Elizabeth Mather, daughter of Nathaniel Mather and Elisabeth Allyn, circa 1770 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. Hezekiah Hayden died in 1776.

     Naomi Hayden was born on 22 October 1752. She was the daughter of Deacon Nathaniel Hayden and Naomi Gaylord. Naomi Hayden died on 14 April 1753 at age 0.

     Martin Hayden was born on 30 October 1754. He was the son of Deacon Nathaniel Hayden and Naomi Gaylord. Martin Hayden died on 3 May 1759 at age 4.

     Esther Hayden was born on 27 April 1741. She was the daughter of Joseph Hayden and Esther Grant.

     Joseph Hayden was born on 7 December 1742 at Harwinton, Litchfield Co., CT. He was the son of Joseph Hayden and Esther Grant. Joseph Hayden married Mary Hayden, daughter of William Hayden and Mary Hannum, on 14 November 1766. Joseph Hayden died on 4 May 1807 at Harwinton, Litchfield Co., CT, at age 64.

     Sarah Hayden was born on 21 November 1743. She was the daughter of Joseph Hayden and Esther Grant.

     Samuel Hayden was born on 6 January 1746. He was the son of Joseph Hayden and Esther Grant. Samuel Hayden married Lois Griswold circa 1788. Samuel Hayden died in 1828.

     Benajah Hayden was born on 16 February. He was the son of Joseph Hayden and Esther Grant. Benajah Hayden died on 15 September 1776.
