Children in the household were Wayne R. 14, and Henrietta 10. Also in the household were his half-brother Arthur 12, neice Laura Q. Holcombe 23, brother Richard 61, sister-in-law Lydia S. 62, nephew Edwin L. 24, and other Martha B. Robinson 15, who assisted with housework.

Rockwell and Harriet were enumerated in the 1900 census of East Granby, Hartford Co., CT, page 2B, line 70. He was a farmer age 62, she was 58. They had been married 37 and had two children, both still living. Also in the household was son Wayne 34, and his family.

     Muriel Brackett Fuller was born on 11 October 1909 at Waltham, MA.¹ She married Irving Leroy Holcombe, son of Amos Roberts Holcombe and Ida Belle Cook, on 2 July 1932 at East Granby, Hartford Co., CT. Muriel Brackett Fuller died on 23 May 1989 at Thomaston, Litchfield Co., CT, at age 79.¹

     Chester Robert Holcombe was born on 6 May 1938 at Hartford, Hartford Co., CT.^2,3 He was the son of Irving Leroy Holcombe and Muriel Brackett Fuller. Chester Robert Holcombe died on 26 June 1988 at Broward Co., FL, at age 50.^2,3

     Lois Carolyn Petit was born on 29 July 1921 at Hartford, Hartford Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Emil Otto Petit and Emma Gerhardt. Lois Carolyn Petit died on 9 August 2008 at Suffield, Hartford Co., CT, at age 87.¹

Lois (Petit) Holcomb, 87, of Suffield, beloved wife of Drayton C. Holcomb, died Saturday, (August 9, 2008) at a local convalescent home. Born July 29, 1921, in Hartford, daughter of the late Emil and Emma (Gerhardt) Petit, she grew up in Hartford before moving to North Granby and then to Suffield 19 years ago. Lois was a member of the First Congregational Church in Granby. She was an avid seamstress and quilter and received many awards for her work and she was a member of the Granbee's Quilting Club but above all she was a wonderful homemaker. Besides her husband, Drayton of 64 years, she is survived by two daughters, Holly Condon and her husband, John of West Suffield, Judy Holcomb of Granby; five grandchildren, Neal Condon, John Condon (Beverly), Sarah Devine (Christopher), Kirsten Doherty (Peter), Valerie Keith (Jamey); seven great grandchildren, Ashley, Nicholas, John, Miranda Condon, Elizabeth Devine, Emma Keith, Aidan Doherty; she was predeceased by a sister, Shirley Seaton. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 16, 11 a.m., at Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook St., Granby. Her family will receive friends Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.      Emil Otto Petit was born on 23 December 1889 at Alsace Lorrraine. He married Emma Gerhardt on 19 November 1914 at Hartford, Hartford Co., CT. Emil Otto Petit died on 14 August 1945 at Hartford, Hartford Co., CT, at age 55.

     Emma Gerhardt was born on 28 August 1889 at Neustadt, Germany. She married Emil Otto Petit on 19 November 1914 at Hartford, Hartford Co., CT. Emma Gerhardt died on 29 April 1977 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT, at age 87.

     George Russell Gibson was born on 20 January 1920 at Holyoke, MA. He was the son of Earl Elery Gibson and Myrtle Chillson. George Russell Gibson died on 29 March 1996 at Suffield, Hartford Co., CT, at age 76.

     Earl Elery Gibson married Myrtle Chillson. Earl Elery Gibson was born on 23 February 1878. He died on 27 July 1949 at age 71.

     Myrtle Chillson married Earl Elery Gibson. Myrtle Chillson was born on 8 October 1878 at Enfield, Hartford Co., CT. She died on 20 January 1950 at age 71.

     Vivian Catherine Diters was born on 30 July 1920 at Hartford, Hartford Co., CT.² She was the daughter of Edward Diters and Mae Donnelly. Vivian Catherine Diters married Carlton Chester Holcombe, son of Chester Harvey Holcombe and Rebecca Mary Phelps, on 28 February 1942 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. Vivian Catherine Diters died on 12 June 1978 at Hartford, Hartford Co., CT, at age 57.²

     Jane Curtiss was born on 27 April 1920 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Charles Edson Curtiss II and Mardula Green. Jane Curtiss married (?) Beaumont. Jane Curtiss married Carlton Chester Holcombe, son of Chester Harvey Holcombe and Rebecca Mary Phelps, on 30 December 1978 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. Jane Curtiss died on 20 November 2003 at Hospice of Martin and St. Lucie, Stuart, Martin Co., FL, at age 83.¹ She was buried on 6 December 2003 at Center Cemetery, Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.

Jane Curtiss Beaumont Holcomb, 83, of Jupiter died Thursday, Nov. 20 at Hospice of Martin and St. Lucie, Stuart.

A native of Simsbury, Conn., she lived in the Jupiter area since 1978.

During World War II she was a member of the Civil Air Patrol in Connecticut and Nebraska and worked for the American Red Cross in Alexandria, Va.

She was past president of Simsbury Historical Society and past regent of the Abigail Phelps N.S. chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a member of the Jupiter Lighthouse chapter. She was a member of the Connecticut Society of Geneologists; Frary Family; Simbury Cemetery Association; Curtiss Cemetery Association; and Simsbury Research Library.

Survivors include her husband of 25 years, Carlton C. Holcomb; a sister, Marion Curtiss Clark of Jupiter; a daughter-in-law, Pamela Beaumont of Massachusetts; three stepchildren, Dee White, Susan Voudreu and C.C. Holcomb Jr; two grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and six stepgreat-granchildren.

She was predeceased by two sons, Curtiss Lee Beaumont and William Davis Beaumont.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29 at Taylor and Modeen Funeral Home, 250 Center St., Jupiter.

Inurnment services will be on Saturday, Dec. 6 at Simsbury Center Cemetery, Simsbury.

     Robert Kenneth Sweatland was born on 23 October 1920. He was the son of Andrew Sweatland and Annie Zimmerman. Robert Kenneth Sweatland died on 4 January 1960 at Hartford, Hartford Co., CT, at age 39.

     Howard Livingston Gibson married Myrtle Chillson. Howard Livingston Gibson was born on 7 September 1900. He died in November 1974 at age 74.

Wayne was enumerated on Maple St. in the 1920 Somers, Tolland Co., CT, federal census, ED 314, page 7B. He was a tobacco farmer, age 53; his wife, whose name is illegible, was 45, born in IL. Children in the household were Bernice 20 and Rockwell 15. Wayne's 82-year-old father was also in the household.
