     Carl B. Holcombe was born on 12 February 1914 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Almond Ebenezer Holcombe and Ellen L. Stevenson. Carl B. Holcombe died on 4 April 1982 at Westfield, Hampden Co., MA, at age 68.¹

     Olive Wilcox Holcombe was born say 1900.¹ She was the daughter of Leon Monroe Holcombe and Belle M. Hayes. Olive Wilcox Holcombe married Rufus Arthur Wheeler, son of Leon Athol Wheeler and Jennie Marie Lord, on 30 June 1928.

     Rufus Arthur Wheeler was the son of Leon Athol Wheeler and Jennie Marie Lord. Rufus Arthur Wheeler married Olive Wilcox Holcombe, daughter of Leon Monroe Holcombe and Belle M. Hayes, on 30 June 1928.

     Linn Holcombe was born on 18 April 1891. He was the son of Lester Loomis Holcombe and Candace Ellen Jennings.

     Charlotte Barber was born in 1788. She was the daughter of Azariah Barber and Elizabeth Humphrey. Charlotte Barber married Treat Lambert, son of Nehemiah Lambert and Sarah Galpin, on 28 October 1824 at Canton, Hartford Co., CT. Charlotte Barber died on 11 November 1845.

     Treat Lambert was born on 8 July 1791. He was the son of Nehemiah Lambert and Sarah Galpin. Treat Lambert married Charlotte Barber, daughter of Azariah Barber and Elizabeth Humphrey, on 28 October 1824 at Canton, Hartford Co., CT. Treat Lambert died in 1863.

     Charlotte M. Barber was born on 30 September 1828. She was the daughter of Vincent Barber and Athalia Taylor. Charlotte M. Barber married Julius Treat Lambert, son of Treat Lambert and Charlotte Barber, on 5 September 1847 at Canton, Hartford Co., CT.

     Noah Barber was born on 4 December 1791. He was the son of Azariah Barber and Elizabeth Humphrey.

     Almira Barber was born in 1793. She was the daughter of Azariah Barber and Elizabeth Humphrey. Almira Barber died on 8 November 1853.

     Azubah Brown was born between 1759 and 1760. She was the daughter of Capt. John Brown and Hannah Owen. Azubah Brown married Michael Barber, son of Sgt. Thomas Barber and Elizabeth Adams, in 1779. Azubah Brown died on 24 November 1812.

     Caleb Holcombe was born on 16 May 1786 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹ He was the son of Caleb Holcombe and Mary (?). Caleb Holcombe died on 6 April 1788 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT, at age 1.¹

     Caleb Holcombe was born on 23 January 1789 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.^2,3 He was the son of Caleb Holcombe and Mary (?). Caleb Holcombe married Abigail Norris on 26 September 1813 at Hartsgrove, Ashtabula Co., OH. Caleb Holcombe died on 5 March 1879 at Hartsgrove, Ashtabula Co., OH, at age 90.³

Caleb moved with his parents from Turkey Hills, Hartford Co., CT, first to Hunter, Greene Co., NY and to Hartsgrove, Dist. #8, Ashtabula Co., OH, as a pioneer. He married Abigail who had come with her parents by ox-cart from Tolland Co., CT, just previously. They are recorded in the 1850 Census of Ashtabula Co. as owning real estate $1,500. Abigail was among the Norris family co-founders of Windsor's United Methodist Chuch. Caleb farmed in Hartsgrove through 1860, but in 1870 both he and Abigail were retired and living on the Seth Hill farm, also in Hartsgrove. Finally in 1880, Abigail was living on the Edson G. Holcombe farm in Hartsgrove.³

An article published in the Painesville Telegraph August 24, 1859, listed veterans fo the War of 1812 who attended a convention in Painesville. A Caleb Holcomb was listed who was 71 at the time. (extracted and published in Ancestor Hunt, a publication of the Ashtabula County Genealogical Society, February 2001.

Caleb and Abigail were enumerated in the 1850 Hartsgrove, Ashtabula Co., OH, federal census, dwelling 1146, family 1183. He was a farmer, age 62, born in CT; she was 54, also born in CT. Children in the household, all born in OH, were Merritt age 26, Susannah age 24, Mahala age 22, Edson G. age 18, and William age 15.

Caleb and Abigail were enumerated in the 1860 Hartsgrove, Ashtabula Co., OH, federal census, page 139. There were no children in the household.

Caleb and Abigail were enumerated in the 1870 Hartsgrove, Ashtabula Co., OH, federal census in the household of Seth and Mahala Hill. He was 82, she was 74.

     Bashabe Holcombe was born on 8 March 1780 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Caleb Holcombe and Mary (?). Bashabe Holcombe died on 23 October 1856 at Windsor, Ashtabula Co., OH, at age 76.²

     Ursille Holcombe was born on 15 January 1784 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Caleb Holcombe and Mary (?).

     Hannah Cobb was the daughter of William Cobb and Mary Carpenter. Hannah Cobb married Daniel Barber, son of David Barber and Sarah Lawrence.

     William Cobb died at Onondaga Co., NY. Served at Bunker Hill.

     David Barber was the son of Daniel Barber and Hannah Cobb. DAR record 19307.

     Julia Barber was born at Chester, OH. DAR member 19307. She was the daughter of David Barber and Lydia Newell Stanley.

     Jane Allyn was born circa 1716. She married Odiah Loomis, son of Timothy Loomis and Rebecca Porter, on 1 November 1739. Jane Allyn died on 23 June 1805.

     Ozias Loomis was born on 13 January 1745/46 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Odiah Loomis and Jane Allyn. Ozias Loomis married Sarah Roberts, daughter of John Roberts and Mary Allyn, on 14 October 1771. Ozias Loomis died on 11 February 1796 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT, at age 50.

     Sarah Roberts was born on 18 October 1747 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of John Roberts and Mary Allyn. Sarah Roberts married Ozias Loomis, son of Odiah Loomis and Jane Allyn, on 14 October 1771. Sarah Roberts died on 10 August 1820 at age 72.
