     Vashti Holcombe was born on 21 April 1780 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.² She was the daughter of Joshua P. Holcombe and Sarah Smith. Vashti Holcombe married Ridout Moore, son of Jonah Moore and Mary Ridout, on 15 July 1821. Vashti Holcombe died on 23 July 1857 at age 77.³

     Helen Holcombe was born on 20 November 1781 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Joshua P. Holcombe and Sarah Smith.

     Watson Holcombe was born between 1806 and 1810 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Joshua Preserve Holcombe and Sarah Griffin. Watson Holcombe married Polly Smith on 25 September 1838.¹ Watson Holcombe died on 5 November 1880.¹ He was buried at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.

After 1830, Watson journeyed to Hartsgrove Township, Ashtabula County, Ohio, to start a new life near cousins residing there, those of the "Caleb Holcomb" line. Polly's parents signed a release for her to marry. Before 1860, Watson and Polly moved north to Saybrook township and farmed for the rest of their lives. Polly was a member of the local Baptist Church throughout her stay in Saybrook. Waston's body was returned to Granby for interment.¹


Watson and Polly were enumerated in the 1850 Hartsgrove, Ashtabula Co., OH, federal census. He was a farmer age 44, she was 28. Children in the household were Horace 11, Cornelia 8, Edwin 6, Alvin 4, and Albert 2.

     Smith Holcombe was the son of Joshua Preserve Holcombe.

     Carol Laun of the Salmon Brook Historical Society, reports that Deborah died in childbirth with her child. Simeon married 2nd Emily Loomis. Deborah Holcombe married Simeon Griffin, son of Levi Griffin and Sarah Holcombe. Deborah Holcombe was the daughter of Joshua Preserve Holcombe.

     Austria Holcombe was born circa 1813. She was the daughter of Joshua Preserve Holcombe and Keziah Alderman. Austria Holcombe died on 4 December 1833.

Austria is listed in different places as Osta or Vashti, but Carol Laun of the Salmon Brook Historical Society thinks the name is probably Austria, based on information from the East Granby Vital Records, page 52.

     Sarah Griffin was born at Granby, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Levi Griffin and Sarah Holcombe.

     Mary Griffin was born at Granby, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Levi Griffin and Sarah Holcombe.

     Levi Griffin was born at Granby, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Levi Griffin and Sarah Holcombe.

     Simeon Griffin married Deborah Holcombe, daughter of Joshua Preserve Holcombe. Simeon Griffin was the son of Levi Griffin and Sarah Holcombe. Simeon Griffin was born at Granby, Hartford Co., CT. He died on 28 November 1885.

     Rensselaer Griffin was born on 23 September 1832 at CT. He was the son of Lyman Griffin and Harriet Davis.

     Sarah Griffin was the daughter of Lyman Griffin and Harriet Davis. Sarah Griffin died on 29 June 1895.

     Mary Griffin was the daughter of Lyman Griffin and Harriet Davis.

     Justin E. Griffin was the son of Lyman Griffin and Harriet Davis.

     Collins B. Griffin was born on 10 May 1842 at CT. He was the son of Lyman Griffin and Harriet Davis.

     Henrietta Griffin was the daughter of Lyman Griffin and Harriet Davis.

     Jennie M. Griffin was born on 15 March 1849. She was the daughter of Lyman Griffin and Harriet Davis. Jennie M. Griffin married William Dixon Viets, son of Festus Viets and Maria Hatheway, on 15 February 1872. Jennie M. Griffin died on 20 November 1882 at age 33.

     Adeline Griffin was the daughter of Lyman Griffin and Harriet Davis.

     Catherine Griffin was born circa 1852 at CT.² She was the daughter of Lyman Griffin and Harriet Davis.

     Lewis Griffin was the son of Lyman Griffin and Harriet Davis.

     Charles Griffin was born at Granby, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Chauncey Griffin and Myra Davis.

     Mary Griffin was born at Granby, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Chauncey Griffin and Myra Davis.

     Edward Griffin was born at Granby, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Chauncey Griffin and Myra Davis.

     Frederick Griffin was born at Granby, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Chauncey Griffin and Myra Davis.

     Willis Griffin was born at Granby, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Chauncey Griffin and Myra Davis.

     William Griffin was born at Granby, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Chauncey Griffin and Myra Davis.

     Emeline Louise Griffin was the daughter of Chauncey Griffin and Myra Davis.

     Sarah L. Griffin was born on 1 October 1868. She was the daughter of Collins B. Griffin and Emeline Matilda Phelon. Sarah L. Griffin died in 1900.

     Bertha King Griffin was born on 10 May 1872. She was the daughter of Collins B. Griffin and Emeline Matilda Phelon.

     William Dixon Viets was born on 17 May 1842 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Festus Viets and Maria Hatheway. William Dixon Viets married Jennie M. Griffin, daughter of Lyman Griffin and Harriet Davis, on 15 February 1872. William Dixon Viets died on 11 March 1911 at East Granby, Hartford Co., CT, at age 68.

     Harriet M. Viets was born on 28 June 1875. She was the daughter of William Dixon Viets and Jennie M. Griffin. Harriet M. Viets died on 10 December 1877 at age 2.

     Sherman L. Viets was born on 29 May 1873. He was the son of William Dixon Viets and Jennie M. Griffin. Sherman L. Viets died on 2 December 1877 at age 4.

     William L. Viets was born on 2 November 1878. He was the son of William Dixon Viets and Jennie M. Griffin. William L. Viets died on 28 April 1909 at Hartford, Hartford Co., CT, at age 30.

     Ezekiel Griswold was born on 3 May 1771. He was the son of Ezekiel Griswold and Anna Munson.

     Asenath Griswold was born on 23 June 1773. She was the daughter of Ezekiel Griswold and Anna Munson.

     Anna Griswold married Edward Munson. Anna Griswold was born on 26 November 1775. She was the daughter of Ezekiel Griswold and Anna Munson.

     Solomon Griswold was born on 11 July 1778. He was the son of Ezekiel Griswold and Anna Munson.

     Timothy Griswold was the son of Ezekiel Griswold and Anna Carey. Timothy Griswold was baptized on 6 March 1785.

     Philo Griswold was the son of Ezekiel Griswold and Anna Carey. Philo Griswold was baptized on 22 June 1788.

     Charlotte Griswold was the daughter of Ezekiel Griswold and Anna Carey. Charlotte Griswold was baptized on 2 June 1793.

     Sarah Griswold was born circa 1794. She was the daughter of Ezekiel Griswold and Anna Carey.

     Edward Munson married Anna Griswold, daughter of Ezekiel Griswold and Anna Munson. Edward Munson was born in 1775. He died in 1822.

     Otis Dresser was born in 1796. He married Fannie F. Munson, daughter of Edward Munson and Anna Griswold, in 1822. Otis Dresser died in 1858.

     DAR record 43014. Electa Maria Dresser was born in 1826. She was the daughter of Otis Dresser and Fannie F. Munson. Electa Maria Dresser married Henry Mulford Peirson in 1852. Electa Maria Dresser died in 1893.
