     Jonathan Barber was born in 1763 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of John Barber and Lydia Reed. Jonathan Barber died on 23 January 1817 at Canton, Hartford Co., CT.

     Joel Barber was born on 17 February 1776 at Canton, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Joel Barber and Mary Phelps. Joel Barber died on 11 September 1863 at Lancaster, Grant Co., WI, at age 87.

     Isaac Barber was born on 25 February 1735/36 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Isaac Barber and Martha Adams.

Isaac was an Ensign 6^th Continental Infantry, 1 January 1776. Cashiered – September 1776. 2^nd Lieutenant of Steven’s Battalion of Artillery, 9 November 1776. Battalion formed part of the 3^rd Continental Artillery in 1778. 1^st Lieutenant 6 March 1780, resigned 23 October 1782. [i] The following sketches appear for his service during the Revolutionary War in Massachusetts Soldiers and Sailors of the Revolutionary War (1:586).

Whitcomb’s Regt; muster roll dated Camp at Ticonderoga, Nov. 27, 1776; enlisted Aug. 1, 1776; reported re-engaged in Col. Stevens’s (Artillery) Regt. Nov. 13, 1776; also, order dated May 16, 1778, granting said Barber reimbursements for losses in the retreat from Ticonderoga; served as a Lieutenant under Maj. (also given Lieut. Col.) E. Stevens.

Isaac is listed among the officers in Metcalf’s Original Members and other Officers eligible to the Society of the Cincinnati 1783-1938. [ii] He is also mentioned as an “Eligible Non-Member” of the Massachusetts Society of the Cincinnati in the New England Historical and Genealogical Society Register (January 1946) 100:61.
To fit the correct age of the New England born Barber/Barbour’s he might be the Isaac born at Simsbury, Connecticut 25 February 1735/6, the son of Isaac And Mary (Adams) Barber. [iii] [A thorough search of records into the life of Barber has still left many unanswered questions. Both Massachusetts Society of the Cincinnati and NEHGS welcome any new information regarding the same].

     John Barber was born on 22 July 1737 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Isaac Barber and Martha Adams.

     Martha Barber was born on 23 June 1739 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Isaac Barber and Martha Adams. Martha Barber died on 11 November 1739.

     Amaziah Barber was born on 5 August 1740 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Isaac Barber and Martha Adams. Amaziah Barber married Mary (?). Amaziah Barber married Mercy Keeny on 9 December 1778 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.² Amaziah Barber lived in 1790 at Harpersfield, Delaware Co., NY. He lived in 1810 at Penfield, Monroe Co., NY. He died in November 1829 at Townsend, Huron Co., OH, at age 89.

     Don Barber listed four children for Seth and Mary but noted that there was no evidence for the parentage of Seth and Samuel. He placed them here because of Seth's name being the same, and because of Samuel's association with Seth in Hartland. See Dr. Barber's book, page 59. Seth Barber was born on 25 December 1742 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Isaac Barber and Martha Adams. Seth Barber died at Middletown, Middlesex Co., CT.

     Dr. Barber says he is not at all certain to which son the grandsons of David belong. I will list there here the way he does. David Barber was born on 3 November 1744 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Isaac Barber and Martha Adams. David Barber married Deborah Adams on 12 December 1772 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. David Barber died on 1 January 1837 at age 92.

     Mary Barber was born on 1 June 1747 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Isaac Barber and Martha Adams.

     Martha Barber was born on 10 July 1749 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Isaac Barber and Martha Adams. Martha Barber married William Case, son of Capt. Jonathan Case and Mary Beaman, on 29 December 1777. Martha Barber died on 20 June 1780 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT, at age 30.

     Hannah Barber was born on 8 April 1751 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Isaac Barber and Martha Adams.

     Ephraim Barber was born on 1 February 1753 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Isaac Barber and Martha Adams. Ephraim Barber married Sarah Drake, daughter of Enoch Drake and Mary Barber. Ephraim Barber died on 4 August 1813 at Barkhamsted, Litchfield Co., CT, at age 60.

     Moved to Franklin Co., OH in 1815; moved to IN in Aug 1851. Solomon Noble was born on 25 January 1806 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Jonathan Noble and Hannah Buell. Solomon Noble married Harriet Scovell on 22 May 1845 at Galena, Delaware Co., OH. Solomon Noble died on 18 October 1877 at IN at age 71.

     Harriet Scovell was born on 20 August 1823 at Galena, Delaware Co., OH.¹ She married Solomon Noble, son of Jonathan Noble and Hannah Buell, on 22 May 1845 at Galena, Delaware Co., OH. Harriet Scovell died on 13 December 1909 at Larwill, IN, at age 86. She was buried at Troy Presbyterian Cemetery.

     DeWitt Clinton Noble was born on 23 July 1848. He was the son of Solomon Noble and Harriet Scovell. DeWitt Clinton Noble married Rosella Bills on 1 July 1868 at Whitley Co., IN. DeWitt Clinton Noble died on 29 March 1923 at Whitley Co., IN, at age 74. He was buried at Greenhill Cemetey; Linvill Section, Columbia City, IN.

     Rosella Bills was born on 29 March 1849 at Columbus, Franklin Co., OH. She married DeWitt Clinton Noble, son of Solomon Noble and Harriet Scovell, on 1 July 1868 at Whitley Co., IN. Rosella Bills died on 9 January 1879 at Whitley Co., IN, at age 29.

     Lillie Augusta Noble was born on 29 June 1869. She was the daughter of DeWitt Clinton Noble and Rosella Bills. Lillie Augusta Noble died on 25 February 1962 at age 92.

     Lucy Adele Noble was born on 23 July 1871. She was the daughter of DeWitt Clinton Noble and Rosella Bills. Lucy Adele Noble married Thomas Francis Kinney. Lucy Adele Noble died on 13 January 1946 at age 74.

     Thomas Francis Kinney was born on 6 November 1870. He married Lucy Adele Noble, daughter of DeWitt Clinton Noble and Rosella Bills. Thomas Francis Kinney died on 24 June 1937 at St. Francis Hospital, Blue Island, IL, at age 66.

     Thomas Robert Kinney was born on 19 June 1893 at Chicago, Cook Co., IL. He was the son of Thomas Francis Kinney and Lucy Adele Noble. Thomas Robert Kinney married Emma Elizabeth Dunbar on 29 November 1928 at Liberty, MO. Thomas Robert Kinney died on 2 November 1990 at Montague, MI, at age 97.

     Emma Elizabeth Dunbar was born on 1 April 1903 at Chicago, Cook Co., IL. She married Thomas Robert Kinney, son of Thomas Francis Kinney and Lucy Adele Noble, on 29 November 1928 at Liberty, MO. Emma Elizabeth Dunbar died on 10 November 1991 at Montague, MI, at age 88.

     Robert Thomas Kinney was born on 19 September 1929. He was the son of Thomas Robert Kinney and Emma Elizabeth Dunbar. Robert Thomas Kinney died on 22 November 1930 at St. Francis Hospital, Blue Island, IL, at age 1.

     Roberta Elizabeth Kinney was born on 21 October 1931 at Blue Island, Cook Co., IL. She was the daughter of Thomas Robert Kinney and Emma Elizabeth Dunbar. Roberta Elizabeth Kinney died on 22 July 1995 at 5224 Winifred Drive, Ft. Worth, Tarrant Co., TX, at age 63.

     Chloe Holcombe was born circa 1784. She was the daughter of Amos Holcombe III and Mary Hall. Chloe Holcombe died on 20 March 1851.

     Azariah Gillett was born on 26 December 1744 at Salmon Brook (now Granby), Hartford Co., CT.¹ He was the son of Othniel Gillett and Eunice (?).

     Consider Holcombe was the son of Consider Holcombe Jr. and Hannah Loomis. Consider Holcombe lived in 1813 at Gates, Genesee Co., NY.

     The History of Isle LaMotte, page 252, shows Ichabod and his two marriages. Ichabod Dawson married Charlotte Hall, daughter of Elihu Hall and Roxanna Holcombe, before 1827. Ichabod Dawson married Electa Holcombe, daughter of Jesse Holcombe and Mehitable Winchell, on 12 October 1847 at Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT.

     Affenia Holcombe was born on 29 July 1817 at Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT. She was the daughter of Ephraim Holcombe II and Elinor Denio. Affenia Holcombe died on 26 March 1874 at age 56.

     Eleanor B. Holcombe was born in 1822 at Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT. She was the daughter of Ephraim Holcombe II and Elinor Denio. Eleanor B. Holcombe married Elder Charles P. Dow. Eleanor B. Holcombe died on 3 January 1906.

     Stratton related a story that Charles was related to Rev. Lorenzo Dow, the noted Methodist missionary. Elder Charles P. Dow married Eleanor B. Holcombe, daughter of Ephraim Holcombe II and Elinor Denio.

     Ephraim Holcombe was born on 1 April 1823 at Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT. He was the son of Ephraim Holcombe II and Elinor Denio.

Ephraim and Henrietta were enumerated in the 1860 Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT, federal census, page 71. He was 36, she was 25. There were no children in the household.

     Margaret Holcombe was born on 18 June 1826. She was the daughter of Ephraim Holcombe II and Elinor Denio.
