     Ruth Mary Lane was born on 25 April 1911 at Stretham, Wimbeldon, England.¹ She was the daughter of George Christopher Lane and Harriet Talcott Griswold. Ruth Mary Lane married Wesley Hurlburt Garner at Chicago, Cook Co., IL.¹ Ruth Mary Lane died on 8 May 1989 at Green Bay, WI, at age 78.¹

     Grace Holcombe was born on 20 June 1881 at Bristol, Ontario Co., NY. She was the daughter of Clark M. Holcombe and Etta A. Alford.

     Carrie M. Hayes was born in January 1892 at OH.¹ She was the daughter of Porter C. Hayes and Sarah (?).¹

     Francis Xavier Shields married Marina Torlonia, daughter of Marino Torlonia 4th Prince of Civitella-Cesi and Mary Elsie Moore.

     Francis Alexander Shields was the son of Francis Xavier Shields and Marina Torlonia.¹ Francis Alexander Shields married Teri Schmon in 1964.¹

     Nancy Griswold was born on 19 April 1797.¹ She was the daughter of Daniel White Griswold and Esther Case.¹

     Mary (?) was born circa 1891 at PA. She married Paul Porter Hayes, son of Porter C. Hayes and Sarah (?).

     Uriah Goodwin was born on 11 May 1735 at West Hartford, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Isaac Goodwin and Hannah Morgan. Uriah Goodwin died in 1782.

     Mary Griswold was born on 27 August 1795.¹ She was the daughter of Daniel White Griswold and Esther Case.¹ Mary Griswold married George Colton on 12 October 1847 at Manchester, Hartford Co., CT.¹

     Eldad Francis Goodwin was born on 15 October 1761 at Hartford, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Uriah Goodwin and Mabel Francis. Eldad Francis Goodwin married Lucy Scott on 23 March 1780 at Ashfield, Franklin Co., MA. Eldad Francis Goodwin died in 1827 at Albany, Albany Co., NY.

     Calphurnia Matthews was born circa 1855. She married Abner J. Holcombe, son of NY Holcombe, on 4 April 1875 at Gallia Co., OH. Calphurnia Matthews died in 1879.

     George Clinton Goodwin was born on 13 October 1807 at Ashfield, Franklin Co., MA.¹ He was the son of Anson Goodwin and Temperance Rogers.¹ George Clinton Goodwin married Jane Pearson on 2 April 1833.¹ George Clinton Goodwin married Harriet Elizabeth Bradbury on 15 July 1857.¹ George Clinton Goodwin died on 12 May 1869 at Charlestown, Middlesex Co., MA, at age 61.¹

George became associated with his father in the manufacture of extracts and compounds, at the old homestead. From there he removed first to Lowell, where he continued the business, and about 1839 he established the firm of George c. Goodwin & Company, on Union street, Boston. Later he moved to Marshall street, and thence to Hanover street into still larger quarters. The firm became well and favorably known, and grew into one of the largest wholesale drug concerns in the United States.

Mr. Goodwin was a prominent and generous member and supporter of the First Baptist Church of Charlestown. He was superintendent of its Sunday school for many years, and also of the Baptist Sunday school at Lexington, where he resided for a time. He was a man of unusual intellectual attainments, combined with good judgment, ability and business sagacity. His good penmanship and gift of expression were often mentioned by his friends and business associates. ¹

He and Jane had seven children.

     Ann Griswold was born on 2 September 1802.¹ She was the daughter of Daniel White Griswold and Esther Case.¹

     Charles Clinton Goodwin was born on 1 February 1839 at Methuen, MA.¹ He was the son of George Clinton Goodwin and Jane Pearson.¹ Charles Clinton Goodwin died on 27 November 1905 at Sunny Slope, Lexington, MA, at age 66.¹

When very young his father moved to Charlestown and afterwards to Lexington, in both of which places he received his education, graduating from the Lexington High School, and entering his father's employ at the age of eighteen years. He inherited many of his father's fine qualities, and applied himself closely to the task of learning the business in every detail. He began as errand boy and worked upwards in the various departments until he was admitted to partnership, becoming the head of the firm when his father died, May 12, 1869. Under his leadership and management the firm grew to large proportions. In January, 1900, the business was incorporated, at the time of consolidation with Cutler Brothers and West & Jenny, two other prominent drug manufacturing concerns of Boston, under the name of the Eastern Drug Company, with Mr. Charles Cutler as vice-president, who at Mr. Goodwin's death succeeded him as the head of the company.

Mr. Goodwin was prominently identified with a number of important interests. He was vice-president of the National Druggists Association. In 1871 he was made a Mason in the Simon W. Robinson Lodge of Lexington, and was its treasurer for many years. He was afterwards a member of Hiram Lodge. He was exalted in Menotomy Chapter, Royal Arch Masons, at Arlington, March 30, 1866. He was a member of the DeMolay Commandery, Knights Templar, of Boston, and in 1869 he joined the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Boston. He was a member of the Lexington Historical Society, and was a Republican in politics.

     Caroline M. Phelps was born in 1875 at CT.¹ She married Herbert Albert Holcombe, son of Albert Elihu Holcombe and Martha J. Keney, circa 1899.¹ Caroline M. Phelps died in 1951.

     Harley A. Wilson was born circa 1859. He was the son of Andrew Wilson and Julia Elizabeth Holcombe.

     Alice Agnes Chapman was born circa 1876.¹ She married William Gundon Holcombe, son of Duel Holcombe and Ann Loretta Henderson.¹

     Myron E. Wilson was born circa 1863 at WI. He was the son of Andrew Wilson and Julia Elizabeth Holcombe.

     Alice Holcombe was born circa 1914 at CT.¹ She was the daughter of William Gundon Holcombe and Alice Agnes Chapman.¹

     Ellery C. Petrie was born circa 1856 at Jefferson Co., WI.¹ He was the son of Jost D. Petrie and Jerusha Florinda Holcombe.¹

     Amelia Holcombe was born in May 1897 at CT.^1,2 She was the daughter of Sumner Holcombe and Elizabeth (?).¹

     Irving W. Petrie was born in April 1863 at Jefferson Co., WI.¹ He was the son of Jost D. Petrie and Jerusha Florinda Holcombe.¹

     Harley H. Petrie was born circa 1866 at Jefferson Co., WI.¹ He was the son of Jost D. Petrie and Jerusha Florinda Holcombe.¹

     Caroline Lowe Patterson was born. She married James Smith Bush, son of Samuel Prescott Bush and Florence Sheldon, on 19 January 1929.

     Jost D. Petrie Jr. was born circa 1853 at Jefferson Co., WI.¹ He was the son of Jost D. Petrie and Jerusha Florinda Holcombe.¹

     James Boulter Stokes was born on 31 January 1804 at New York, New York Co., NY.¹ He married Caroline Phelps, daughter of Anson Greene Phelps and Olivia Egleston.¹

     Marie Bernette Kotch was born on 8 December 1898.² She married William Dean Holcombe, son of William Sherman Holcombe and Lucy Mann, on 26 February 1916.^3,1 Marie Bernette Kotch died in March 1987 at Port Neches, Jefferson Co., TX, at age 88.²

     Anson Phelps Stokes was born on 22 February 1838 at New York, New York Co., NY.¹ He was the son of James Boulter Stokes and Caroline Phelps.¹ Anson Phelps Stokes married Helen Louisa Phelps, daughter of Isaac Newton Phelps and Sarah Maria Lusk, on 17 October 1865.² Anson Phelps Stokes died in 1913.¹

     Annie Parks was born circa 1861 at IA.¹ She was the daughter of Laban Parks and Rachael Ann Grewell.¹

     Isaac Newton Phelps was born on 25 April 1802 at East Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.¹ He was the son of Jospeh Phelps and Elizabeth Ladd.² Isaac Newton Phelps married Sarah Maria Lusk on 10 November 1828.¹ Isaac Newton Phelps died on 1 August 1888 at Saratoga, NY, at age 86.¹

     Eva Bell Parks was born circa 1870 at NE.¹ She was the daughter of Laban Parks and Rachael Ann Grewell.¹

     Jospeh Phelps was born on 23 March 1766 at East Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.¹ He was the son of Jerijah Phelps and Sarah Stoughton.² Jospeh Phelps married Elizabeth Ladd on 28 August 1794.¹ Jospeh Phelps died on 5 January 1834 at South Windsor, Hartford Co., CT, at age 67.¹

     Edith P. Holcombe was born in 1900 at CT.¹ She was the daughter of Herbert Albert Holcombe and Caroline M. Phelps.¹ Edith P. Holcombe died in 1925.

     Jerijah Phelps was born on 17 February 1712 at East Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.¹ He was the son of Capt. Joseph Phelps and Abigail Bissell.² Jerijah Phelps married Sarah Stoughton, daughter of John Stoughton Jr. and Eunice Bissell, on 10 February 1763.¹ Jerijah Phelps died on 22 June 1792 at age 80.¹

     Marjorie Merriweather Post was born on 15 March 1887 at Springfield, Sangamon Co., IL. She married Edward Bennett Close in 1905. Marjorie Merriweather Post died on 12 September 1973 at age 86.

     Roger Bissell was born.¹ He married Sarah Stoughton, daughter of John Stoughton Jr. and Eunice Bissell, on 24 October 1743.¹

     Lavinia (?) was born circa 1813 at CT.¹ She married Miles Holcombe, son of CT Holcombe.¹

     Anson Phelps Stokes was born in 1874 at New Brighton, Staten Island, NY. He was the son of Anson Phelps Stokes and Helen Louisa Phelps. Anson Phelps Stokes married Carol G. Mitchell. Anson Phelps Stokes died in 1958 at Lenox, Berkshire Co., MA.

     Elizabeth (?) was born in March 1877 at England.^1,2 She married Sumner Holcombe, son of CT Holcombe.¹

     Anson Phelps Stokes III was born on 11 January 1905 at New Haven, New Haven Co., CT.¹ He was the son of Anson Phelps Stokes and Carol G. Mitchell. Anson Phelps Stokes III died on 7 November 1986 at Brookline, Norfolk Co., MA, at age 81.¹
