     Asenath Hurd married Edward Griswold, son of Daniel B. Griswold and Mary Bushnell, on 19 June 1783 at Killingworth, Middlesex Co., CT.¹ Asenath Hurd died on 2 April 1852 at Dryden, Tompkins Co., NY.¹

     Margaret Givens was born on 2 December 1788.^1,2 She married Abram Griswold, son of Edward Griswold and Asenath Hurd, at Dryden, Tompkins Co., NY.¹ Margaret Givens died on 22 June 1842 at Dryden, Tompkins Co., NY, at age 53.^1,2

     John Hayes Wilson was born on 17 August 1881.¹ He was the son of Simon Jerome Wilson MD and Emma Frances Hayes.¹

     Maria (?) was born in August 1822 at NY.^1,2 She married Irvin Buskirk.¹

     Sarah Jane Griswold was born on 17 January 1813 at Dryden, Tompkins Co., NY.^1,2 She was the daughter of Abram Griswold and Margaret Givens.¹ Sarah Jane Griswold died on 10 September 1884 at age 71.¹

     Chester Hayes was born on 15 September 1850.¹ He was the son of Anson Everis Hayes and Helen Jerusha Hopson.¹ Chester Hayes died on 8 January 1852 at age 1.¹

     Asenath Griswold was buried at Green Hill Cemetery, Dryden, Tompkins Co., NY.² She was born on 19 April 1810 at Dryden, Tompkins Co., NY.^3,4 She was the daughter of Abram Griswold and Margaret Givens.¹ Asenath Griswold married Hiram H. Hunter before 1840.⁵ Asenath Griswold married John Hiles.² Asenath Griswold died on 8 August 1888 at age 78.¹

     Mary Griswold was born on 5 July 1815 at Dryden, Tompkins Co., NY.^1,2 She was the daughter of Abram Griswold and Margaret Givens.¹ Mary Griswold married Hiram H. Lamphear.¹ Mary Griswold died on 10 June 1853 at age 37.¹

Hiram H. and Mary were enumerated in the 1850 Buffalo, Erie Co., NY, federal census, both were 32 and there were no children in the household.

Hirma H. and Abi were enumerated in the 1860 Buffalo, Erie Co., NY, federal census. Children in the household were Ada 5, and Nelly 3. These would have to be Abi's children.

There were no children listed in either census that could have been Mary's, but the Griswold Genealogy says she raised 5.

     Everett was a lawyer, graduated Law School, University of Wisconsin, 1879; practicedmadison, wis., 1879-83 and in Ashland, Wis. after June, 1883; served as alderman of Madison; was a member of Wis. Historical Soc; never married. ² Everett Anson Hayes was born on 10 March 1855.¹ He was the son of Anson Everis Hayes and Mary Folsom.¹

     Lillian A. Waters was born circa 1921 at OH.¹ She was the daughter of Charles Emmett Waters and Florence G. (?).¹

     University of Wis. Law School, 1880, lawyer, unmarried. ² Jay Orley Hayes was born on 2 October 1857.¹ He was the son of Anson Everis Hayes and Mary Folsom.¹

     Henry A. Christ was born on 20 January 1933 at New Britain, Hartford Co., CT.¹ He was the son of Henry A. Christ and Louise D. Holcombe.¹ Henry A. Christ died on 4 June 2010 at Newburyport, MA, at age 77.

Henry A. Christ, 77, of Newburyport, died peacefully at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport on Friday, June 4, 2010 following a short illness. He was surrounded by his loving family and friends. Henry was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend, and innovative educator. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Susan (Thomas) Christ.

Henry was born in New Britain, Conn., Jan. 20, 1933, the son of the late Henry Christ and the late Louise Christ-Osterby. He was predeceased by his sister, Shirley (Christ) Fort.

Mr. Christ was a 1951 graduate of Deep River (Conn.) High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as a parachute rigger during the Korean War. After the Navy, Henry earned a bachelor’s degree I elementary education from Central Connecticut College and in 1957 became an elementary teacher in Chester, Conn. He earned a Master’s of Education form the University of Hartford. In 1963 he was appointed principal at Salisbury Memorial School in Salisbury. Seven years later, Mr. Christ became the first principal of the Rupert A. Nock Middle School in Newburyport, a school that quickly earned the reputation as one of the best in the country. Seeking yet another challenge, he took the job of Assistant Superintendent and Business Manager of the Triton Regional School District in 1975.

Upon his retirement from public education in 1988, Mr. Christ worked for the New England League of Middle Schools, an organization of which he was one of the founding fathers in the early 1970s. There he became a well-respected middle school consultant and evaluator of middle schools across the country until his retirement in the late 90s. Henry enjoyed traveling with his wife throughout the U.S. and other countries. He also loved rooting for the Detroit Tigers, his life-long favorite team.

He is survived by his children, Leslie Randall and her husband Dennis, Ronald, and Mark, all of Salisbury, Darlene of Amesbury, and Lisa Bollinger and her husband Erich of Dana Point, Calif; his step-son David Streiff of Newburyport; and his first wife, Claire Amirault of Amesbury. He was the grandfather of Jonathan, Jessie, Charles, and Julia.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Twomey-LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home, 193 High St., Newburyport. Burial will be at the Highland Cemetery, Newburyport. Calling hours will be Tuesday, 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Newburyport Education Foundation, P.O. Box 1002, Newburyport, MA 01545.

     Dr. Merritt Byron Fairchild was born on 1 April 1839 at DePauville, NY.¹ He married Mary Jane Hayes, daughter of Nathan Seward Hayes and Jane Naomi Bridge, on 12 October 1870 at New Hartford, NY.¹

     D.G. and Cara M. were enumerated in the 1880 Richfield Springs, Otsego Co., NY, federal census. He ran a livery stable, age 48, she was 39. Children in the household were twins Alice H. and Ella D. 2. Also enumerated in the household was father-in-law W.H. Hayes, 64. Clara M. Hayes was born on 15 November 1845 at Bridgewater, NJ.¹ She was the daughter of William Henry Hayes and Harriet Frater.¹ Clara M. Hayes married Delavan G. Harris on 21 February 1866.¹

     Nathan Hayes Fairchild was born on 31 August 1882.¹ He was the son of Dr. Merritt Byron Fairchild and Mary Jane Hayes.¹

     Alice Harris was born in 1877.¹ She was the daughter of Delavan G. Harris and Clara M. Hayes.¹

     Hannah Harmon married Elisha Granger, son of John Granger and Dinah Holcombe.¹

     Elam Kendall married Flora Hayes, daughter of Benjamin Hayes and Rosanna Hayes, circa 1812.¹ Elam Kendall died on 14 June 1881 at Geneva, Kane Co., IL.¹

Orson and Fanny "Kendle" were enumerated in the 1860 Virgil, Kane Co., IL, federal census. He was a farmer, age 47, she was 47. Children in the household were Flora H. 19, "Murton" 17, Joseph 14, Albert C. 12, Otis R. 10, Morton H. 8, and Ruth H. 6.

Lydia Griswold was born on 22 June 1825 at Dryden, Tompkins Co., NY.^1,2 She was the daughter of Abram Griswold and Margaret Givens.¹ Lydia Griswold married Lafayette Sweetland, son of James Sweetland and Frances Wakely, on 7 March 1848 at Dryden, Tompkins Co., NY.^3,2 Lydia Griswold died on 11 February 1914 at Peterboro, Madison Co., NY, at age 88.⁴

     It is perhaps Jerome and Harriet enumerated in the 1860 Campton, Kane Co., IL, federal census. "J.N." age 37 born in CT and Harriett age 31 born in OH, had a child Fred age 2.

Jerome and Harriet were enumerated in the 1870 Geneva, Kane Co., IL, federal census. He was a retired farmer, age 47, she was 40. The only child in the household was George J. 5. Jerome N. Kendall was born circa 1823 at CT.^1,2 He was the son of Elam Kendall and Flora Hayes.¹ Jerome N. Kendall married Harriet P. Minor circa 1860.³

     Ella Harris was born in 1877.¹ She was the daughter of Delavan G. Harris and Clara M. Hayes.¹

     Newton Kendall was born circa 1842 at IL.¹ He was the son of Orson Kendall and Maria Reed.¹
