     Capt. Job Bradford was born circa 1726.1 He was the son of Gershom Bradford and Priscilla Wiswall.2 Capt. Job Bradford died on 29 April 1790 at Boston, Suffolk Co., MA.1

Job was captured by a Spanish privateer while a passnger on the schooner Success, on its way from Georgia to Rhode Island, He and others were released in a small, leaky boat two days later, and managed to make their way to shore. 3

On another occasion Job ran onto a sunken wreck while crusing up the Gulf Stream, and thereby lost his own Betsey. Fortunately, as she sank she was spotted by Capt. James Brattle of Boston, who rescued Capt. Job and others, and carried them home. 3

In still another adventure, Capt. Job's brigantine Charlotte was captured by the Salem privateer Revenge. 3
