     Horace Seiver Holcombe was born on 22 August 1916 at Sugar City, Crowley Co., CO.^1,2,3 He was the son of Fort Erastus Holcombe and Dottie Ethel Butler.¹ Horace Seiver Holcombe married Emma Louise Wygle on 2 March 1948 at Reno, Washoe Co., NV.² Horace Seiver Holcombe died on 7 June 1988 at Springfield, Greene Co., MO, at age 71.^2,3

Horace spent the last two years of high school in Willow Springs, MO, graduating in 1936. The previous two years were at Trego High School in Trego, Kansas. He joined the Civilian Conservation Corps and worked with them in the Flaming Gorge area of Wyoming and Colorado, until he moved to Oregon where he joined the US Army and served in the 29th Engineers surveying the northwestern part of Oregon in 1938 and 1939.

During the war he tried to join the Navy as a Sea Bee. But, because he was an electrician in the shipyards his draft board would not release him because he was critical to the nations defense effort.

He died in Springfield, Greene, Missouri while on a motorhome trip from his home in Portland, Oregon to Maine. He was on the outbound leg of his journey when he had a heart attack in Willow Springs, Howell, Missouri where he was visiting old high school haunts.

     Virgil I. Holcombe was born on 20 February 1903 at KS.^1,2 He was the son of Horace Seaver Holcombe and Xollie Alfire Belveal.¹

     Mabel M. E. Holcombe was born on 3 April 1907 at Trego Co., KS.^1,2 She was the daughter of Horace Seaver Holcombe and Xollie Alfire Belveal.¹ Mabel M. E. Holcombe died in September 1971 at age 64.
