     Mary Burnham was the daughter of Frank Burnham and Fanny Holcombe.¹ Mary Burnham died; pneumonia at age 9 months.¹

     Hattie Holcombe was born circa 1871 at CT.¹ She was the daughter of James Holcombe and Jane (?).¹

      James Holcombe was also known as James P. Holcombe.² He was born in February 1831 at CT.² He was the son of Benoni Holcombe and Annie Winchell.¹ James Holcombe married Jane (?) circa 1855.²

There is no proof that the James enumerated in the household of Benoni Holcombe in Windsor in 1850, is the same as the James P. enumerated in Windsor in 1860 as head of household. Further research is needed.

James P. and Jane L. were enumerated in the 1860 Poquonock, Windsor, Hartford Co, CT, federal census. He was a millwright, age 25; she was 25. The only child in the household was Merwin P. 1.

James and Jane were enumerated in the 1880 Windsor, Hartford Co., CT, federal census. He was a farmer age 47, she was 45. Children in the household were Merwin 21, Charlie 16, and Hattie 8.

James and Jane L. were enumerated in the 1900 Windsor, Hartford Co., CT, federal census. He was a millwright, age 69; she was 64. The only child in the household was Murray J. 42.

     Mary J. (?) was born in October 1819 at CT.¹ She married Martin B. Holcombe, son of CT Holcombe, circa 1844.¹ Mary J. (?) died on 11 March 1903 at Bloomfield, Hartford Co., CT, at age 83.

Mrs. Jane Shepard Holcomb, wife of Martin B. Holcomb, died at her home in Bloomfield yesterdy of pneumonia, aged 82 years. She had suffered from rheumatism for a long time. She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Friend Cadwell, and a brother, e. N. Shepard, both of Bloomfield.

     Edwin L. Holcombe was born in March 1857 at CT.¹ He was the son of CT Holcombe.¹ Edwin L. Holcombe married Helen Maloy circa 1895.¹

Edwin L. and Nellie E. were enumerated in the 1900 Hartford, Hartford Co., CT, federal census. He was a machinist, age 43, she was 39. The census indicated that the present marriage was 4 years duration Nellie had had two children. Were these two children from a previous marriage of Nelllie's or was the actual marriage length 14 years? Children in the household were Mable 13, and Morgan 6.

Helen was enumerated in the 1910 Hartford, Hartford Co., CT, federal census. She was 48, it was her 2nd marriage, and this marriage was 13 years in duration. Edwin is not enumerated nearby. Morgan, age 17 was also in the household, as was brother William Maloy.

Edwin and Helen were enumerated in the 1920 Hartford, Hartford Co., CT, federal census. He was a toolmaker, age 63, she was 56. Is this a different wife from the 1900 census? The only child in the household was Morgan, 26. There were two boarders surnamed Maloy.
