American Legion there and its 1st President 1924-5; Clearfield (PA) Medical, Pres. 1924-26, tuberculosis committee chairman, 1927-29, Treasurer since 1940; commission of Girls' Scout Council, 1930-32; 1936-38; Treasurer, 1944; member Federated Women’s' Club, Phillipsburg, Chairman Cleft Palate Rehabilitation Committee of PA, First Worthy Matron, Phillipsburg, Chairman, Order of the Eastern Star, 1924-5, member and vice-regent, 1937-40 and 1941-44; Moshannan Chapter DAR as descendant of Capt. John Ferguson of Orange Co., NY; served 10 years as councilor of 6th Dist. of PA Medical Auxiliary during which she assisted husband in his physicians office and is half owner of Benson's (formerly McGirk's) Sanatorium, having 21 beds for medical, surgical and obstetrical patients, - founded in 1901.

Hospital, Ridgeway, PA July 1919 to Nov. 1921; same at Phillipsburgh PA Hospital (State), 1921-29; private practice in radiology, 1922 and associate surgeon, McGirk's Sanatorium, Phillipsburgh, PA; studied surgery in 4 months course at Cook Co. Hospital, Chicago, IL in 1935; bought McGirk's Sanatorium in May 1939 from the estate of Dr. Charles E. McGirk, who with father, Dr. J. D. McGirk were renowned pioneer surgeons of PA, which hospital Dr. Benson has since operated. He is elder in the Presbyterian Church and member of many medical and professional societies and officer therein. ²
