     Mildred Irene Holcombe was born on 5 January 1906 at Correctionville, Woodbury Co., IA.¹ She was the daughter of Ernest A. Holcombe and Jesse Mary Ellen Smith.¹ Mildred Irene Holcombe married George Ellis Dixon on 25 July 1927 at LeMars, Plymouth Co., IA.¹ Mildred Irene Holcombe died on 11 September 1971 at Correctionville, Woodbury Co., IA, at age 65.¹ She was buried on 13 September 1971 at Correctionville Cemetery, Correctionville, Woodbury Co., IA.¹

     Jesse O. Yeargan was born on 7 May 1886.¹ He married Nannie Mae Alsup, daughter of Lemuel Ellis Alsup and Annie Lee Carpenter. Jesse O. Yeargan died in November 1969 at San Antonio, Bexar Co., TX, at age 83.¹

     Billy A. Yeargan was born on 22 October 1924 at TX.^1,2 He was the son of Jesse O. Yeargan and Nannie Mae Alsup.¹ Billy A. Yeargan died on 27 June 1999 at Houston, Harris Co., TX, at age 74.¹

     Jesse O. Yeargan Jr. was born on 26 November 1915 at Dallas, Dallas Co., TX.¹ He was the son of Jesse O. Yeargan and Nannie Mae Alsup.¹ Jesse O. Yeargan Jr. married Wanda (?).² Jesse O. Yeargan Jr. died on 16 October 2004 at San Antonio, Bexar Co., TX, at age 88. He was buried on 22 October 2004 at Laureland.

Jesse O. Yeargan Jr. died in San Antonio on October 16, 2004 after a short illness. He will be interred beside his wife, Wanda Neal Yeargan, at Laureland at 1:30 on October 22, 2004. There will be a short graveside service.

J.O., as he was known, was born in Dallas on November 26, 1915, and graduated from Sunset High School in 1933. A railroad man, he conducted troop trains for the Santa Fe during WWII, and afterward started his own travel agency in Dallas. He and Wanda were among the first members of the Wedding Ring Class at Tyler Street Methodist Church, and were also active in the Dallas Junior Chamber of Commerce and the Boy Scouts.

J. O. was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse O. and Nanny Mae Yeargan, and by his brothers, Harold and Bill. His children, Randall L. Yeargan of Duncanville and Wanda Cecil Krezdorn of San Antonio, survive him. He had six grandchildren, Lisa Yeargan Hendricks, Catherine and Michael Yeargan, and James, and Dennis Cecil, and Kara Cecil Billings. Zachary Kyle Hendricks is his great grandson.

     Wanda (?) was born on 6 February 1918.¹ She married Jesse O. Yeargan Jr., son of Jesse O. Yeargan and Nannie Mae Alsup.¹ Wanda (?) died in July 1985 at San Antonio, Bexar Co., TX, at age 67.¹

     Mattie Lovella Bell was buried at Greenwood Cemetery, Kingman Co, KS. She was born on 25 October 1882 at Marion Co., KS. She married William Arthur Vandolah, son of William Taylor Vandolah and Alice Blanche Coleman, on 21 December 1903 at Belmont, Kingman Co, KS. Mattie Lovella Bell died on 24 April 1911 at Fredonia, Wilson Co, KS, at age 28.

     Katherine B. (?) was born on 9 January 1901.^1,2 She married Frederick E. Holcombe, son of Ernest A. Holcombe and Jesse Mary Ellen Smith.¹ Katherine B. (?) died on 4 May 1994 at Correctionville, Woodbury Co., IA, at age 93.^1,2

     Goldie Riordan was born on 9 November 1896 at Correctionville, Woodbury Co., IA.¹ She was the daughter of Lemuel Riordan and Amelia Ahrens.¹ Goldie Riordan married Robert Leroy Holcombe, son of Benjamin Bunyan Holcombe and Loretta Jane Swift, on 1 June 1916 at Correctionville, Woodbury Co., IA.¹ Goldie Riordan died on 4 November 1988 at Sutherland, O'Brien Co., IA, at age 91.¹ She was buried on 7 November 1988 at Correctionville Cemetery, Correctionville, Woodbury Co., IA.¹

     Charles Holcombe was born circa 1853 at OH.¹ He was the son of Franklin Holcombe and Mary Jane Bidwell.¹

     Charles A. Holcombe was born on 3 March 1899 at Orangeville, Hartford, Trumbull Co., OH. He was the son of Nahum W. Holcombe and Blanche MacMurray.

     David Spellman Holcombe was born on 30 September 1810 at CT.¹ He was the son of Roswell Holcombe and Polly Spelman.¹ David Spellman Holcombe married Phebe Wickaiser.¹ David Spellman Holcombe died on 23 December 1893 at Pecatonica, Winnebago Co., IL, at age 83.

David was a farmer and cooper; he moved from Connecticut to Trucksville, Lucerne Co., PA, with his parents' family. He tired of the rough, roucky country there and moved to a farm 8 miles south of Rockford, in Winnebago Co., Ill., where he added to land purchases accumulating about 1000 acres. In his last years he left the occupancy and management of his lands to his son, Marshall, and moved to Rockford, Ill. ²

Philander left home as a young man; travelled through Southern States to Gulf or South Atlantic ports and went to sea. On one return trip from Hongkong he was in a storm where all facilities were used to barely save the ship, which reached Ney York City harbor, when he was put in a Snug Harbor, Staten Island hospital with fever. His uncle, Elias Howard and grandmother, Mary (Spellman) Holcombe, who lived in Brooklyn, NY learned of his desperate illness and removed him to their home; nursed him to recovery and this uncle employed him in his cooperage business; lived Atlantic Ave., Brooklyn, NY. ²

     Alvira Holcombe was born circa 1832 at Luzerene Co., PA.¹ She was the daughter of David Spellman Holcombe and Phebe Wickaiser.¹

Alvira's unnamed husband of Luzerne Co., PA, bought and slaughtered livestock and sold the meat there at wholesale. ²

     Albert H. Holcombe was born circa 1834 at Luzerene Co., PA.¹ He was the son of David Spellman Holcombe and Phebe Wickaiser.¹ Albert H. Holcombe married Cathereine (?).² Albert H. Holcombe died on 17 September 1899 at Santa Ana, Orange Co, CA.

     Lydia A. Holcombe was born in August 1841 at Luzerne Co., PA.² She was the daughter of David Spellman Holcombe and Phebe Wickaiser. Lydia A. Holcombe married Joseph Blanchard in 1861.³ Lydia A. Holcombe died on 23 March 1931 at Eureka, Humbolt Co., CA, at age 89.³

Lydia was provided for in the will of her father as "Lydia A. Blanchard". Blanchard was a sheep raiser of Shickshinny, PA. ⁴
