Robert Waldo Boas1

     Robert Waldo Boas was born on 10 June 1914 at Montreal, Québec, Canada.1,2 He was the son of Herbert Allan Boas and Marguerite Chase.1 Robert Waldo Boas died on 5 June 2000 at Presbyterian Home, Summerville, SC, at age 85.1

He grew up in Farmington, and later became a general agent for John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Co. During World War II, Mr. Boas served in the Field Artillery and was a member of the Army Glee Club, later returning to the insurance world in 1944 and transferred to Boston, MA as district manager. He became active in Boston Life Underwriters and was made president in 1945. He also was active in General Agents and Life Managers Association of New England, retiring in 1969. For many years he was an avid Ham Radio Operator. Up until the very end he kept his wonderful sense of humor and beautiful disposition. 3
