     Sarah Strong was born on 27 January 1771. She was the daughter of Rev. Cyprian Strong DD and Sarah Bull.² Sarah Strong married John Ellsworth IV, son of Capt. John Ellsworth and Sarah Clark, on 25 November 1788. Sarah Strong died in June 1818 at age 47.

     Rev. Cyprian Strong DD was born on 26 May 1743 at Farmington, Hartford Co., CT.¹ He was the son of Capt. Asahel Strong and Ruth Hooker.² Rev. Cyprian Strong DD married Sarah Bull on 9 November 1768.¹ Rev. Cyprian Strong DD died on 17 November 1811 at age 68.

     Stoddard Ellsworth was born in 1767. He was the son of Lt. Solomon Ellsworth and Mary Moseley. Stoddard Ellsworth married Ann Stoughton, daughter of Col. Lemuel Stoughton and Ann Ellsworth, in 1793. Stoddard Ellsworth died in 1845.

     Abner Mosely Ellsworth was born on 4 January 1771 at East Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.² He was the son of Lt. Solomon Ellsworth and Mary Moseley. Abner Mosely Ellsworth married Elsie Thompson on 31 December 1797.² Abner Mosely Ellsworth died on 24 December 1853 at age 82.²

     Mary Ellsworth was born in 1759. She was the daughter of Lt. Solomon Ellsworth and Mary Moseley. Mary Ellsworth died in 1829.

     Ann Ellsworth was born in 1761. She was the daughter of Lt. Solomon Ellsworth and Mary Moseley. Ann Ellsworth died in 1777.

     Unmarried. Solomon Ellsworth was born in 1762. He was the son of Lt. Solomon Ellsworth and Mary Moseley. Solomon Ellsworth died in 1841.

     Elizabeth Ellsworth was born in 1765. She was the daughter of Lt. Solomon Ellsworth and Mary Moseley. Elizabeth Ellsworth married John Newberry. Elizabeth Ellsworth died in 1816.

     John Newberry married Elizabeth Ellsworth, daughter of Lt. Solomon Ellsworth and Mary Moseley.

     Abigail Ellsworth was born in 1769. She was the daughter of Lt. Solomon Ellsworth and Mary Moseley.

     Marilla Ellsworth was born in 1774. She was the daughter of Lt. Solomon Ellsworth and Mary Moseley.

     Timothy Ellsworth was born in 1778. He was the son of Lt. Solomon Ellsworth and Mary Moseley.

     Joseph Ellsworth was born in 1780. He was the son of Lt. Solomon Ellsworth and Mary Moseley. Joseph Ellsworth died in 1804.

     Ann Ellsworth was the daughter of Lt. Solomon Ellsworth and Mary Moseley.

     Ann Stoughton was born in 1770. She was the daughter of Col. Lemuel Stoughton and Ann Ellsworth. Ann Stoughton married Stoddard Ellsworth, son of Lt. Solomon Ellsworth and Mary Moseley, in 1793.

     John Stoughton was born on 2 February 1772. He was the son of Col. Lemuel Stoughton and Ann Ellsworth. John Stoughton married Sarah Wetmore, daughter of Oliver Wetmore, on 26 February 1799. John Stoughton died on 19 September 1841 at age 69.

     Lemuel Stoughton was born in 1774. He was the son of Col. Lemuel Stoughton and Ann Ellsworth.

     Martha Stoughton was born in 1777. She was the daughter of Col. Lemuel Stoughton and Ann Ellsworth.

     Eunice Stoughton was born in 1779. She was the daughter of Col. Lemuel Stoughton and Ann Ellsworth.

     Elsie Thompson was born on 8 May 1766 at East Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.¹ She married Abner Mosely Ellsworth, son of Lt. Solomon Ellsworth and Mary Moseley, on 31 December 1797.¹ Elsie Thompson died on 20 November 1840 at age 74.¹

     Esther Wells was born in 1759. She was the daughter of Jonathan Wells and Esther Hills.

     Abigail Potwine was born in 1755. She was the daughter of Thomas Potwine. Abigail Potwine married Nathaniel Stoughton, son of Nathaniel Stoughton and Martha Ellsworth, in 1773. Abigail Potwine died in 1848.

     Abigail Stoughton was born in 1774. She was the daughter of Nathaniel Stoughton and Abigail Potwine. Abigail Stoughton died in 1855.

     Bowman credits all information to Clara Overbo. Nathaniel Stoughton was born in 1777. He was the son of Nathaniel Stoughton and Abigail Potwine. Nathaniel Stoughton married Sarah Nichols, daughter of Levi Nichols and Elizabeth Newton. Nathaniel Stoughton died in 1850.

     Lydia Stoughton was born in 1779. She was the daughter of Nathaniel Stoughton and Abigail Potwine. Lydia Stoughton died in 1853.

     Martha Stoughton was born in 1781. She was the daughter of Nathaniel Stoughton and Abigail Potwine. Martha Stoughton died in 1805.

     Sarah Stoughton was born in 1784. She was the daughter of Nathaniel Stoughton and Abigail Potwine. Sarah Stoughton died in 1875.

     John Stoughton was born in 1786. He was the son of Nathaniel Stoughton and Abigail Potwine. John Stoughton died in 1875.

     Thomas P. Stoughton was born in 1789. He was the son of Nathaniel Stoughton and Abigail Potwine. Thomas P. Stoughton died in 1855.

     Richard Stoughton was born in 1792. He was the son of Nathaniel Stoughton and Abigail Potwine. Richard Stoughton died in 1875.

     William P. Stoughton was born in 1794. He was the son of Nathaniel Stoughton and Abigail Potwine. William P. Stoughton died in 1871.

     Daniel Stoughton was born in 1797. He was the son of Nathaniel Stoughton and Abigail Potwine. Daniel Stoughton died in 1815.

     Sarah Nichols was born in 1783. She was the daughter of Levi Nichols and Elizabeth Newton. Sarah Nichols married Nathaniel Stoughton, son of Nathaniel Stoughton and Abigail Potwine. Sarah Nichols died in 1870.

     Simeon Griswold was born on 16 May 1752. He was the son of Seth Griswold and Susannah Shurtleff.³

     Samuel Taylor II was the son of Samuel Taylor and Tirza Holcombe.

     Elihu Taylor was the son of Samuel Taylor and Tirza Holcombe.

     Charles Taylor was the son of Samuel Taylor and Tirza Holcombe.

     Fanny Taylor was the daughter of Samuel Taylor and Tirza Holcombe.

     Francis Taylor was the son of Samuel Taylor and Tirza Holcombe.

     Harry Holcombe was born on 14 September 1793 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.³ He was the son of Elihu E. Holcombe and Electa Hillyer.² Harry Holcombe married Polly Birge Hayes, daughter of Calvin Hayes and Lucy Phelps, on 4 November 1816 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.⁴ Harry Holcombe married Betsey Barton on 9 March 1830 at Methodist Episcopal Church, Granby, Hartford Co., CT.⁵ Harry Holcombe died on 26 August 1865 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT, at age 71.³

Harry enlisted at Granby, Hartford Co., CT, Sept 13, 1813 as a private in Capt. Seth Comstock's Co., Lt. Col. Elihu Sanford; in Capt. L. Pettibone's co., of 1st Conn. Artillery, Sept. 16, 1813 for 45 days; discharged, New London, CT, Nov. 1, 1813. He received in 1855 for this service a grant of 160 acres of Bounty Land.

Harry and Betsey were recorded in the 1850 Granby, Hartford Co., CT census with Mary age 19, Emma age 18, and Curtiss, age 10. Also in the household are Lemuel Lawton age 59, and Harry's mother, Electa age 78.

Harry is enumerated in the 1860 Granby, Hartford Co., CT, census with Betsey and Curtiss W. Julia, age 59 (apprently his sister) is also in the household.

     James Holcombe was born in 1799 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.² He was the son of Elihu E. Holcombe and Electa Hillyer.¹ James Holcombe married Martha McClintock, daughter of Mary McClintock.² James Holcombe died in 1873 at Barton Co., MO.²

James left home at age of 16 years, going to Tioga Co., Pa., thence to Rockford, Winnebago Co., Ill., to Wis., Neb. and to Barton Co., Mo., where he died.

James was enumerated in the 1860 Falls City, Richardson Co., NE Territory, federal census. He was 61. Children in the household were "Alaho" 18, and Lyman 12. Enumerated next door were S. Duryea and wife Lucy; she was 22, born in PA.

Perhaps it is this James enumerated in the 1870 Lola, Cherokee Co., KS, federal census in the household of Samuel and Lucy Durya. He was 70, born in CT. She was born in PA. and was 36.

It is apparently this family enumerated in the 1850 District 26, Richland Co., WI, federal census. He was a farmer age 49, Lucy was 42. Children in the household were Herman 20, Lucy 16, James 13, Elihu 8, and Lyman 2.

     Julia Holcombe was born on 29 April 1801 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.² She was the daughter of Elihu E. Holcombe and Electa Hillyer.¹ Julia Holcombe died on 9 March 1901 at Franklin, PA, at age 99; unmarried.² She was buried at Franklin, PA.

Julia is enumerated in the 1860 Granby, Hartford Co., CT, census in the household of her brother Harry.

Julia is enumerated in the 1870 Granby, Hartford Co., CT, federal census, with a 16 year old Charles Officer, an idiot, living in the household.

After an active life that lacked but a few weeks of a full century, Miss Julia Holcomb, daughter of Elihu Holcombe and Electa (Hillyer) Holcomb died March 9 at the home of her grand-nephew, Frank W. Officer, in Franklin, PA. She ws the oldest person in that city if not in northwestern Pennsylvania. Miss Holcombe was born in Granby, April 29, 1901 where she lived until 1859 when she left her native town to become a member of her nephew's family in Franklin. Born of puritan ancestryshe possessed the will courage and hope of the early New Englander. At an early age she united with the Congregational Church and was closely identified with its work and interests especially in the Sundsy school, where she was most prominent. For many years she ws the custom tailor of Granby and enployed most of her time in tailoring. Until the hour of her death she possessed her mental faculties. Her cheery disposition and loving words of comfort were an inspiration to all with whom she came in contact. Notwithstanding the many appeals from friends, relatives and the (unintelligable), Miss Holcombe had always refused to be photographed. Having outlived all of her relatives but two nephews, Mr. Officer and Wilson Holcombe of Washington D. C., she ws buried in the home of her adoption.
