     Elizabeth Phelps married Burr Phelps. Elizabeth Phelps was born on 15 May 1786 at Harwinton, Litchfield Co., CT. She was the daughter of Uri Phelps and Abigail Tulford.

     Burr Phelps married Elizabeth Phelps, daughter of Uri Phelps and Abigail Tulford.

     Susan Phelps was born on 11 August 1788 at Harwinton, Litchfield Co., CT. She was the daughter of Uri Phelps and Abigail Tulford.

     Sally Phelps was born on 11 January 1791 at Harwinton, Litchfield Co., CT. She was the daughter of Uri Phelps and Abigail Tulford. Sally Phelps died on 19 April 1794 at Harwinton, Litchfield Co., CT, at age 3.

     Uri Tracy Phelps was born on 17 April 1793. She was the daughter of Uri Phelps and Abigail Tulford.

     Nabby Phelps was born on 13 May 1795. She was the daughter of Uri Phelps and Abigail Tulford.

     Ransom Phelps was born on 6 May 1800. He was the son of Uri Phelps and Abigail Tulford.

     Adin Phelps was born on 1 July 1805. He was the son of Uri Phelps and Abigail Tulford.

     Samuel Barber was born on 6 August 1710 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Joseph Barber and Mary Loomis. Samuel Barber married Ann Gillett, daughter of Daniel Gillett and Mary Eno. Samuel Barber died on 29 March 1797 at Tyringham, Berkshire Co., MA, at age 86.

     Samuel Phelps was born on 20 July 1755 at Harwinton, Litchfield Co., CT. He was the son of Samuel Phelps and Ann Barber.

     Hezekiah Phelps was born on 6 January 1758 at Harwinton, Litchfield Co., CT.² He was the son of Samuel Phelps and Ann Barber.¹ Hezekiah Phelps married Unknown (?).³

Hezekiah settled in Harwinton where his children were born. After the death of his wife he removed to Sackett's Harbor, Jefferson Co., NY, where he resided wiht his son John, and where he died. He served in the Revolutionary army. ⁴

     Silas (or Giles) Phelps was born on 13 December 1759 at Harwinton, Litchfield Co., CT. He was the son of Samuel Phelps and Ann Barber.

     Ira Phelps was born on 30 May 1763 at Harwinton, Litchfield Co., CT. He was the son of Samuel Phelps and Ann Barber.¹

     Anna Phelps was born on 8 November 1767 at Harwinton, Litchfield Co., CT. She was the daughter of Samuel Phelps and Ann Barber.

     Evans Phelps was born on 6 April 1770 at Harwinton, Litchfield Co., CT. He was the son of Samuel Phelps and Ann Barber.

     Joel was a private in the company of Capt. Hezekiah Holcomb, Connecticut militia, which served in New York. Joel Phelps was born in 1732 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Lt. Samuel Phelps and Ruth Phelps. Joel Phelps married Jerusha Nash in 1757 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. Joel Phelps died in 1799 at New Haven, VT.

     Ruth Phelps was born on 6 February 1733 at Harwinton, Litchfield Co., CT. She was the daughter of Lt. Samuel Phelps and Ruth Phelps. Ruth Phelps died on 4 September 1783 at age 50.

     Jerusha Nash was born in 1736. She married Joel Phelps, son of Lt. Samuel Phelps and Ruth Phelps, in 1757 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. Jerusha Nash died in 1796.

     Jerusha Phelps was born on 17 April 1739. She was the daughter of Lt. Samuel Phelps and Ruth Phelps.

     Walter Spann married Gloria Carter, daughter of James Earl Carter Senior and Bessie Lillian Gordy, in 1954.

     William Carter Spann was born in 1946 at Texas. He was the son of "Soapy" Hardy and Gloria Carter. William Carter Spann died on 2 February 1997 at Oakland, CA.

Oakland, Calif. -- William Carter Spann, former President Carter's nephew and the self-described "bad peanut" of the family, collapsed and died while drinking on an Oakland street,officials said. He was 51.


Mr. Spann, who had been in and out of jail since arriving in California in 1969, was pronounced dead at the scene, said John Prindeville of the Alameda County coroner's office.


Mr. Spann, who had no known address, was drinking with a man he had just met when he collapsed, Mr. Prindeville said.


The son of Mr. Carter's sister, Gloria, Mr. Spann once said in a jail interview that he loved his family. His uncle, he said, was "in the White House, and I'm in the big house."


That interview was in February 1980, just a few days after Rosalynn Carter visited San Francisco. Mr. Spann, who was jailed after a dispute with his wife, said the Secret Service contacted him and asked whether he would like to see Mrs. Carter. He said he was interested only if she wanted to see him, and the meeting never took place.


Mr. Spann was convicted of robbery, drunken driving and parole violations. He escaped from the Butte County jail in Oroville in 1984 while awaiting a parole hearing. He was jailed after his parole officer arrested him for allegedly using amphetamines.


Mr. Spann's other convictions included two 1976 armed robberies in San Francisco. While in Soledad Prison for those crimes, he wrote a newspaper recalling his uncle's presidential victory. "Once again I was wondering what I was doing back in prison for robbing bars," he wrote.


Mr. Spann's mother, who lived in Plains, Ga., died in 1990.


Mr. Carter once wrote Mr. Spann to suggest he not apologize for the bad publicity from his exploits. "You are part of out family and we are certainly not thinking of disowning you," Mr.Carter wrote. "We all just wish you well."

Roger Holcombe married Margaret Avenell, daughter of John Avenhall, in 1452. Roger Holcombe lived at Hull, Yorkshire, England. He died on 20 January 1480.

     Margaret Avenell was the daughter of John Avenhall. The chart over Roger's tomb shows Margaret's name as "Avenal". Margaret Avenell married Roger Holcombe, son of John Holcombe and Joan Falkeroy, in 1452. Margaret Avenell died in 1499.

     John Holcombe was the son of Sir John Holcombe and Isabel Down. From Vivian's 1887 The Visitations of the County of Devon, page 474. The Vivian information is based on Pole and Wescote, and the Harlquein manuscripts of 1080. John Holcombe married Joan Falkeroy, daughter of William Falkeroy.

     Joan Falkeroy was the daughter of William Falkeroy. Joan Falkeroy married John Holcombe, son of Sir John Holcombe and Isabel Down.

     Sir John Holcombe was born in 1290. He was the son of Walter de Holcombe. Sir John Holcombe married Isabel Down, daughter of Hugh Down, circa 1306. Sir John Holcombe died in 1320.

     Isabel Down was the daughter of Hugh Down. Isabel Down married Sir John Holcombe, son of Walter de Holcombe, circa 1306.

     Thomas Tyllcott was born in 1500 at Nailstone. He was the son of John Talcot.

     William Tyllcott was born in 1500 at Nuneaton?. He was the son of John Talcot.

     Henry Taylecotte was born in 1500 at Chilvers Coton?. He was the son of John Talcot. Henry Taylecotte was buried in 1551 at St. Botolphs Colchester. He died in 1551 at St. Botolphs Colchester.

     Robert Talcott was the son of John Talcott and Alice Wells.

     Anne Talcott was the daughter of John Talcott and Alice Wells.

     Moses Wall married Anne Skinner, daughter of William Skinner and Margery Trotter.
