     Sarah Humphrey was born on 4 April 1783. She was the daughter of Giles Humphrey and Elizabeth Case.

     Elizabeth Humphrey was born on 3 June 1785. She was the daughter of Giles Humphrey and Elizabeth Case.

     Lydia Humphrey was born on 29 November 1787. She was the daughter of Giles Humphrey and Elizabeth Case.

     Lyman Humphrey was born on 11 February 1789. He was the son of Giles Humphrey and Elizabeth Case.

     Ursula Humphrey was born on 1 August 1794. She was the daughter of Giles Humphrey and Elizabeth Case. Ursula Humphrey died on 21 June 1829 at age 34.

     Anna Humphrey was born. She was the daughter of Giles Humphrey and Elizabeth Case.

     Anna Pettibone married Norman Humphrey, son of Giles Humphrey and Elizabeth Case.

     Amy Butler was the daughter of Thomas Butler. Amy Butler married Capt. James Cornish, son of Deacon James Cornish and Elizabeth Thrall, on 9 December 1719. Amy Butler died on 16 February 1763.

     Deacon James Cornish was born in 1663. He was the son of Mr. James Cornish and Phebe Brown. Deacon James Cornish married Elizabeth Thrall, daughter of Timothy Thrall and Deborah Gunn, on 10 November 1693. Deacon James Cornish died on 2 April 1740.²

It seems probable that he was born in Saybrook, Conn., bur no record of the date has been found; but his age given on his tombstone at Simsbury, Conn., as seventy-seven years, indates the date closely. On the Windsor (Conn.) records he is called as "of Westfield," from which place he, undobtedly, came to Windsor, and he apparently lived in Windsor from about 1690 to 1698, as records of births of his children are made there as late as 1697. He was a farmer, the almost universal occupation of the people there in those days, and was long one of the foremost men of Simsbury, Conn., and was prominent in the affairs of town and church. He was first taxed in Simsbury in 1699, having bought land there from Eleazar Hill, March 26, 1698. He represented Simsbury in the General Court of the colony many times, and held numerous other positions of confidence and trust. He was chosen Deacon of the chrch in Simsbury in 1715, which office he held until his death, he and his first wife having been admitted to the church there in December, 1698.

He accumulated quite a property for those times, his estate inventorying £860, and was divided by will dated Feb. 8, 1740, among the children by his second wife, first giving her outright one third and the use of all the rest during her lifetime, unless she wished to pay any of the children their portion sooner, which apparently she did. He also confirmed the children by his first wife in the portions they had received from him from time to time, as he had given them their portions as they had becomre of age, deeding lands in simsbury in the cases of his two oldest sons, James, Jr., and Joseph, Feb. 16, 1717, and Dec. 21, 1719, respectively, as in full of all of their portion of his estate. ³

     Elizabeth Thrall was born on 1 May 1667.² She was the daughter of Timothy Thrall and Deborah Gunn. Elizabeth Thrall married Deacon James Cornish, son of Mr. James Cornish and Phebe Brown, on 10 November 1693. Elizabeth Thrall died on 25 January 1713/14 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT, at age 46.^2,3

     Mr. James Cornish was born circa 1612. He married Unknown (?) at England. Mr. James Cornish married Phebe Brown, daughter of William Brown, in 1662. Mr. James Cornish died on 29 October 1698.

     Phebe Brown was born at England. She was the daughter of William Brown. Phebe Brown married Thomas Lee. Phebe Brown married Greenfield Larrabee. Phebe Brown married Mr. James Cornish in 1662. Phebe Brown died on 22 December 1664.¹

     Unknown (?) married Mr. James Cornish at England. Unknown (?) died.

     In the details of his will we can read the oft repeated story of the youth led by love of adventure or other allurement into joining the king's army, and it is apparent that he never returned from this expedition. James Cornish was born on 29 October 1687. He was the son of Gabriel Cornish and Elizabeth Wolcott. James Cornish left a will on 17 August 1710. His estate was probated on 2 July 1711 at Hartford, Hartford Co., CT.

     Phebe Cornish was born circa 1705. She was the daughter of Deacon James Cornish and Elizabeth Thrall. Phebe Cornish married Shubael Griswold, son of Joseph Griswold and Deborah (?), on 3 November 1723 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.¹

     Shubal Griswold was born on 30 November 1729 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.^2,3 He was the son of Shubael Griswold and Phebe Cornish.² Shubal Griswold married Abigail Stanley, daughter of Timothy Stanley and Mary Mygatt, on 8 June 1754.³ Shubal Griswold died on 25 February 1807 at age 77.⁴

Shubael settled in torrington, Conn. as a young man and built his home in the torringford quarter in 1754. He opened a tavern which was the first institution of a public character in Torringford. He was active in religious affairs and meetings were first held in his home and that of Nehemiah Gaylord previous to 1763. He served as a member of the Legislature from 1776 - 1789 and was also a selectman. ⁵

His service in the French and Indian War is contained on the first page of his journal:

May ye 1st 1758. Inlisted myself into his Majestes sservis. Marched from Torrington on the 20th day of June, 1758; marched from Litchfield on the 22nd. The 23rd, marached from Canaan. Took part in the assault by Gen. Abercrombie, July 8, 1758, on fort Ticonderoga. ⁵

The agreement for the settlement of his estate, Litchfield, Conn. probate, was signed by Phoebe, wife of Andrew Austin; Mary, wife of Samule Woodward; Shubael, Stanley, Norman and Tahddeus Griswold. ⁵

     Anna Webster was born on 18 June 1760. She was the daughter of William Webster and Anna Case. Anna Webster married Hezekiah Parsons on 25 June 1778.

     Hezekiah Parsons was born on 13 June 1757. He married Anna Webster, daughter of William Webster and Anna Case, on 25 June 1778. Hezekiah Parsons died on 22 May 1825 at age 67.

     Wealthean Webster was born on 4 January 1764. She was the daughter of William Webster and Anna Case. Wealthean Webster married Thomas Shepard Jr. on 14 February 1802. Wealthean Webster died on 11 January 1809 at age 45.

     Thomas Shepard Jr. married Wealthean Webster, daughter of William Webster and Anna Case, on 14 February 1802.

     Daniel Webster was born on 5 February 1767. He was the son of William Webster and Anna Case.

     Hezekiah Webster was born on 18 March 1766. He was the son of William Webster and Anna Case. Hezekiah Webster married Anna Goodwin, daughter of Morgan Goodwin and Mary Hawley, on 9 May 1794.¹ Hezekiah Webster died on 20 May 1835 at Sennett, Cayuga Co., NY, at age 69.²

     Anna Goodwin was born on 5 January 1776. She was the daughter of Morgan Goodwin and Mary Hawley.^1,2 Anna Goodwin married Hezekiah Webster, son of William Webster and Anna Case, on 9 May 1794.³ Anna Goodwin died on 20 May 1841 at age 65.³

     Rachel Foote was born on 10 May 1736. She married Timothy Phelps, son of Amos Phelps and Sarah Pettibone, on 5 January 1760.

     (?) Stewart married Sarah Case, daughter of Joseph Case and Hannah Humphrey. (?) Stewart was also known as (?) Steward.

     Frederick Phelps was born on 4 July 1771. He was the son of Timothy Phelps and Sarah Case.

     Ruth Owen was born on 16 October 1752.¹ She was the daughter of John Owen and Esther Humphrey. Ruth Owen married Capt. Bartholomew Case, son of Thomas Case and Elizabeth Woodford, circa 1771. Ruth Owen died on 14 May 1782 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT, at age 29.

     John Owen was born on 18 March 1711/12. He was the son of Sergt. John Owen and Hannah Marshall. John Owen married Esther Humphrey, daughter of Jonathan Humphrey and Mercy Ruggles, on 10 January 1738. John Owen died on 6 February 1783 at age 70.

     Esther Humphrey was born on 15 April 1722. She was the daughter of Jonathan Humphrey and Mercy Ruggles. Esther Humphrey married John Owen, son of Sergt. John Owen and Hannah Marshall, on 10 January 1738. Esther Humphrey died on 7 March 1772 at age 49.

     Bartholomew Case was born on 27 October 1772 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Capt. Bartholomew Case and Ruth Owen. Bartholomew Case married Rachel Foote Phelps, daughter of Timothy Phelps and Sarah Case, in 1794. Bartholomew Case died on 10 June 1833 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT, at age 60.

     Rachel Foote Phelps was born on 8 December 1774 at Harwinton, Litchfield Co., CT. She was the daughter of Timothy Phelps and Sarah Case. Rachel Foote Phelps married Bartholomew Case, son of Capt. Bartholomew Case and Ruth Owen, in 1794. Rachel Foote Phelps died in 1871.

     Martha Stiles was born in 1731. She was the daughter of Lt. Samuel Stiles and Mary Phelps. Martha Stiles died in 1782.

     Mary Stiles was born in 1734. She was the daughter of Lt. Samuel Stiles and Mary Phelps. Mary Stiles died in 1817.

     Hannah Stiles was born in 1735. She was the daughter of Lt. Samuel Stiles and Mary Phelps. Hannah Stiles married Ashbel Stiles, son of Rev. Isaac Stiles and Esther Hooker, in February 1759. Hannah Stiles died in September 1810 at Norwich (now Huntington), MA.

     Ashbel Stiles was the son of Rev. Isaac Stiles and Esther Hooker. Ashbel Stiles was also known as Ashabel Stiles. He married Hannah Stiles, daughter of Lt. Samuel Stiles and Mary Phelps, in February 1759. Ashbel Stiles died in October 1810 at Norwich (now Huntington), MA.

     Rev. Isaac Stiles was born on 30 July 1697 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of John Stiles and Ruth Bancroft. Rev. Isaac Stiles married Esther Hooker, daughter of Samuel Hooker Jr., in October 1728. Rev. Isaac Stiles died on 14 May 1760 at North Haven, New Haven Co., CT, at age 62.

     Esther Hooker was born. She was the daughter of Samuel Hooker Jr.. Esther Hooker married Rev. Isaac Stiles, son of John Stiles and Ruth Bancroft, in October 1728. Esther Hooker died on 2 January 1779.

     Samuel Stiles was born in 1737. He was the son of Lt. Samuel Stiles and Mary Phelps. Samuel Stiles died in 1757.

     Elizabeth Stiles was born in 1739. She was the daughter of Lt. Samuel Stiles and Mary Phelps. Elizabeth Stiles married Elijah Norton in 1768. Elizabeth Stiles died in 1828.

     Elijah Norton married Elizabeth Stiles, daughter of Lt. Samuel Stiles and Mary Phelps, in 1768. Elijah Norton died in 1797.

     Margaret Stiles was born in 1741. She was the daughter of Lt. Samuel Stiles and Mary Phelps. Margaret Stiles died in 1742.

     Margaret Stiles was born in 1744. She was the daughter of Lt. Samuel Stiles and Mary Phelps. Margaret Stiles died in 1822.
