     Ambrose Powell Hill was born on 13 March 1785. He was the son of Henry Hill Colonel and Anne Powell. Ambrose Powell Hill married Frances Twyman on 18 February 1807. Ambrose Powell Hill died in 1858.

From Information provided by Reed Browning. From "General A.P. Hill: The Story of a Confederate Warrior" "Five children came from the marriage of Henry Hill and Anne Powell. One son, Ambrose Powell Hill (1785-1858), served in both houses of the Virginia legislature in addition to being elected captain of the Culpeper Minute Men militia."

Ambrose P. was enumerated in the 1850 Culpeper Co., VA, federal Census. He was a farmer, age 65. Also in the household was Louisa V. Hill, 50.

     Frances Needless was born on 19 March 1690. She married William Russell Hill, son of (?) Hill, on 7 September 1710.

     Frances Twyman was born on 10 April 1790. She married Ambrose Powell Hill, son of Henry Hill Colonel and Anne Powell, on 18 February 1807. Frances Twyman died on 19 September 1820 at age 30.

     Sarah Ann Hill was born in 1807. She was the daughter of Ambrose Powell Hill and Frances Twyman. Sarah Ann Hill died in 1890.

     James Hill General was born on 20 January 1809. He was the son of Ambrose Powell Hill and Frances Twyman. James Hill General died on 8 February 1851 at age 42.

     From Informatin provided by Reed Browning. Thomas Hill was born on 29 March 1810. He was the son of Ambrose Powell Hill and Frances Twyman. Thomas Hill married Margaret Ann Hill, daughter of Major Thomas Hill and Fannie Russell Baptist, on 13 January 1831. Thomas Hill died on 6 May 1885 at age 75.

     Eliza Willis Hill was born on 29 October 1811. She was the daughter of Ambrose Powell Hill and Frances Twyman. Eliza Willis Hill died on 28 May 1876 at age 64.

     Frances Henry Hill was born on 27 November 1813. She was the daughter of Ambrose Powell Hill and Frances Twyman. Frances Henry Hill died on 23 September 1863 at age 49.

     Henry Hill was born on 13 February 1816. He was the son of Ambrose Powell Hill and Frances Twyman. Henry Hill died on 11 August 1866 at age 50.

     William Alexander Hill was born on 22 November 1817. He was the son of Ambrose Powell Hill and Frances Twyman. William Alexander Hill died on 21 November 1890 at age 72.

     Edwin Hill was born on 6 December 1819. He was the son of Ambrose Powell Hill and Frances Twyman. Edwin Hill died on 21 November 1873 at age 53.

     Frances Ann Hill was born in October 1831. She was the daughter of Thomas Hill and Margaret Ann Hill. Frances Ann Hill died in 1848.

     Sarah Margaret Hill was born on 3 May 1833. She was the daughter of Thomas Hill and Margaret Ann Hill. Sarah Margaret Hill married J. Montcalm Simms on 7 November 1854.

     J. Montcalm Simms was born on 7 November 1824. He married Sarah Margaret Hill, daughter of Thomas Hill and Margaret Ann Hill, on 7 November 1854.

     Elizabeth Powell (Lizzie) Simms was born on 15 July 1855. She was the daughter of J. Montcalm Simms and Sarah Margaret Hill. Elizabeth Powell (Lizzie) Simms married Silas H. Browning on 18 December 1877.

     Silas H. Browning was born on 15 January 1855. He married Elizabeth Powell (Lizzie) Simms, daughter of J. Montcalm Simms and Sarah Margaret Hill, on 18 December 1877. Silas H. Browning died on 19 October 1889 at age 34.

     Olive B. Browning was born on 8 February 1880. She was the daughter of Silas H. Browning and Elizabeth Powell (Lizzie) Simms.

     William Lloyd Browning was born on 14 January 1882. He was the son of Silas H. Browning and Elizabeth Powell (Lizzie) Simms.

     J. Montcalm Browning was born on 13 June 1883. He was the son of Silas H. Browning and Elizabeth Powell (Lizzie) Simms.

     Carrie Hill Browning was born on 13 July 1886. She was the daughter of Silas H. Browning and Elizabeth Powell (Lizzie) Simms.

     James Barnes married Mary Lenoir, daughter of Isaac Lenoir and Martha (?). James Barnes was born in 1765. He died on 7 June 1825 at Sumter, Sumter Co., SC.

     Mary Lenoir married James Barnes. Mary Lenoir was born in 1765 at Horatio, Sumter. She was the daughter of Isaac Lenoir and Martha (?). Mary Lenoir died on 28 May 1841.

     Isaac Lenoir was born on 15 October 1743 at Brunswick Co., VA. He was the son of Thomas Lenoir Sr. and Mourning Crawley. Isaac Lenoir died in November 1808 at Horatio, Sumter, SC, at age 65.

The Will of Isaac Lenoir "I Isaac Lenoir of the State of South Carolina and Sumter District being somewhat indisposed but thanks be to God of perfect mind, and memory; and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die I do hereby ordain and make this last Will and Testament Viz.
