     Rosella Bushnell was born on 4 September 1810 at Trumbull Co., OH.¹ She was the daughter of Sterling Graves Bushnell and Huldah Holcombe. Rosella Bushnell married Jonathan West Sloane on 24 April 1828.¹ Rosella Bushnell died on 24 January 1899 at Trumbull Co., OH, at age 88.¹

     Jonathan West Sloane was born on 24 November 1805 at Jefferson Co., OH.¹ He married Rosella Bushnell, daughter of Sterling Graves Bushnell and Huldah Holcombe, on 24 April 1828.¹ Jonathan West Sloane died on 26 December 1880 at Richland Co., OH, at age 75.¹

     Martin Bushnell Sloane was born on 15 December 1851 at Richland Co., OH.¹ He was the son of Jonathan West Sloane and Rosella Bushnell. Martin Bushnell Sloane married Ella Hansel Au on 7 June 1876.¹ Martin Bushnell Sloane died on 28 December 1923 at Mansfield, Richland Co., OH, at age 72.¹

     Ella Hansel Au was born on 12 March 1856 at Mansfield, Richland Co., OH.¹ She married Martin Bushnell Sloane, son of Jonathan West Sloane and Rosella Bushnell, on 7 June 1876.¹ Ella Hansel Au died on 22 May 1944 at Mansfield, Richland Co., OH, at age 88.¹

     Eloise Sloane was born at Mansfield, Richland Co., OH.¹ She was the daughter of Martin Bushnell Sloane and Ella Hansel Au.¹ Eloise Sloane married George L. Buchan.¹

Eloise was accepted into the Mary Washington Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution on 18 March 1948, as a descendant of Benajah Holcomb, and assigned member number 290243.

     George L. Buchan married Eloise Sloane, daughter of Martin Bushnell Sloane and Ella Hansel Au.¹ George L. Buchan died before 1 April 1946.

     Harrison Phelps Gillett was born circa 1868 at Cleveland, Cuyahoga Co., OH.² He was the son of Harrison Gray Otis Gillett and Estelle Phelps.¹ Harrison Phelps Gillett married Flora Phelps, daughter of John Phelps and Sarah Moore, circa 1901.²

Harrison P. and Flora were enumerated in the 1910 Waterford, Erie Co., PA, federal census. He was a flower mill miller, age 41, she was 32. The only other person in the household was her father, John E. Phelps 81.

Phelps H. and P. Flora were enumerated in the 1920 Waterford, Erie Co., PA federal census. He was a manufacturer in a flower mill, age 51, she was 41. There was no one else in teh household.

H. Phelps and Flora P. were enumerated in the 1930 Waterford, Erie Co., PA, federal census. He was 61, she was 52. There was no one else in the household.

     Judson Horace Holcombe was born on 6 January 1830. He was the son of Horace Holcombe and Julia Ann Gillet. Judson Horace Holcombe married Martha Ellen Whitcher on 26 November 1862. Judson Horace Holcombe died on 6 March 1914 at age 84.

     Martha Ellen Whitcher was born on 23 March 1836. She married Judson Horace Holcombe, son of Horace Holcombe and Julia Ann Gillet, on 26 November 1862. Martha Ellen Whitcher died on 1 September 1905 at age 69.

     Eva Holcombe was born on 29 September 1863. She was the daughter of Judson Horace Holcombe and Martha Ellen Whitcher. Eva Holcombe married John Thomas Barden on 8 November 1894.

     John Thomas Barden was born on 13 March 1860. He married Eva Holcombe, daughter of Judson Horace Holcombe and Martha Ellen Whitcher, on 8 November 1894. John Thomas Barden died on 6 December 1920 at age 60.

     Anna Smith Howell was born in 1810. She married Niles Holcombe, son of Judge John Holcombe and Chloe Mudge, on 9 August 1827 at Gallia Co., OH.¹ Anna Smith Howell died in 1877.

      Robert Ira Holcombe was also known as Return Ira Holcombe. He was born on 24 February 1845 at Gallia Co., OH. He was the son of Niles Holcombe and Anna Smith Howell. Robert Ira Holcombe married Lucinda H. Dearmin in 1870 at Clarinda, Page Co., IA.

Robert enlisted July 25, 1861, as a resident of Bloomfield, Cavi Co., IA, in the 10th MO Union Regt. and served through the war. He had changed his name from Robert Ira to Return Ira to adopt the name of his great-great-grandfather, Return Holcombe, a Revolutionary soldier. Return Ira became a printer and writer for newspapers, principally on historical subjects. From 1888-90 he wrote histories of Greene and Marion counties, MO, and manyother local histories and biograhies. From 1911-13 published many extensive histories in MN; in 1916, history of the 1st MN Regt in war of 1861-65. As Asst. Sec'y of the MN Historical Society he next wrote chapters in a history of St. Paul, MN, including 129 biographies. His last years were spent writing histories and biographies of Carver, Hannepin and McLeod counties, MN; had lived in Clarinda, Page Co., IA.

      Lucinda H. Dearmin was also known as Lucinda H. Dearing. She was born in 1839. She married Robert Ira Holcombe, son of Niles Holcombe and Anna Smith Howell, in 1870 at Clarinda, Page Co., IA.

     Lillian Maude Holcombe was born at Centerville, Appanoosa Co., IA. She was the daughter of Robert Ira Holcombe and Lucinda H. Dearmin. Lillian Maude Holcombe was a member in 1909 at DAR; 72338, Washington, DC.

     Phoebe Ann Holcombe was born on 30 May 1823.¹ She was the daughter of Alpheus Holcombe and Hannah Kingsbury. Phoebe Ann Holcombe was born on 30 March 1828.³ She married David Smiley on 23 September 1846.⁴ Phoebe Ann Holcombe died in 1904.
