Obituary was in The Denison (Iowa) Bulletin, Thursday, June 24, 1976. Mamie Helen Hallowell was buried at St. Rose Lima Cemetery, Denison, Crawford Co., IA. She was born on 17 September 1911 at Dow City, Crawford Co., IA. She was the daughter of Joseph Elmer Hallowell and Daisy Helen Glassburner. Mamie Helen Hallowell married Wilvy Vincent Mullen on 11 June 1942. Mamie Helen Hallowell died on 4 June 1976 at Dow City, Crawford Co., IA, at age 64.

     

Ada was raised near Dow City and attended the Dow City consolidated School where she graduated as valedictorian of the class of 1929. She then attended Iowa State Teacher's college and taught in the public schools of Crawford county for six years. Ada and George were married at the Little Brown chruch in Nashua, Iowa. During their first years of marriage they lived in the Denison, Iowa. In 1944 the family moved to Jefferson. Funeral services for Ada were held Monday, Nov 7 at the Slininger chapel with the Rev. Dick Harberts of the Jefferson Presbyterian church in charge. Burial was in the Oakland cemetery in Denison. Ada Lois Hallowell was buried at Denison Cemetery, Denison, Crawford Co., IA. She was born on 22 November 1912 at Dow City, Crawford Co., IA. She was the daughter of Joseph Elmer Hallowell and Daisy Helen Glassburner. Ada Lois Hallowell married George James Harvey, son of James R. Harvey, on 11 July 1936 at L'tle Brn Church, Nashua, Iowa. Ada Lois Hallowell died on 2 November 1960 at Jefferson, Greene Co, Iowa, at age 47.

     

Don was born on the farm north of Dow City. He attended school in Dow City, and graduated with the class of 1934, after which he attended Simpson College in Indianola, for two years. He spent five years in the Army, serving in both World War II and the Korean War. Don was an automotive salesman and later operated a service station. He was a member of the First Methodist Chruch, the American Legion, and of the Forty and Eight. He died suddenly of a heart attack at his home in Topeka. Funeral services were held at the Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary in Topeka, Monday July 14 at 1:30 pm with Rev. Ewart G. Watts officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery. Donald Joseph Hallowell was buried at Topeka Cemetary, Topeka, Shawnee Co., KS. He was born on 21 March 1917 at Dow City, Crawford Co., IA. He was the son of Joseph Elmer Hallowell and Daisy Helen Glassburner. Donald Joseph Hallowell died on 9 July 1969 at Topeka, Shawnee Co., KS, at age 52.

     Ruth contracted scarlet fever which rapidly developed into pneumonia, causing her death in spite of all the attendion of loving hands and medical skill. She died in Webster City, her body was accompanied to Dow City by her father. Because of the nature of the disease, no public funeral was held; a short and appropriate service was conducted at the grave by Rev. Walter C. Plank, of the local Methodist church. Her mother and other members of the family were not able to attend because they had also contacted scarlet fever and were at home quarantined. Ruth Elizabeth Hallowell was buried at Dow City Cemetery, Dow City, Crawford Co., IA. She was born on 7 August 1918 at Dow City, Crawford Co., IA. She was the daughter of Joseph Elmer Hallowell and Daisy Helen Glassburner. Ruth Elizabeth Hallowell died on 11 January 1921 at Dow City, Crawford Co., IA, at age 2.

     Marcia was born at the family home near Dow City. Her entire life was spent in that community. Baptized in early childhood, she was a member of the Methodist Sunday school. At the age of twelve she united with the Methodist Episcopal church. She was a member of the junior class at the Dow City high school and an active member of the glee club when she died at the Denison hospital after an emergency appendectomy. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 at the Methodist church conducted by her pastor, rev. d. I. Hower. Interment was made in the Dow City cemetery. Marcia Janet Hallowell was buried at Dow City Cemetery, Dow City, Crawford Co., IA. She was born on 4 December 1919 at Dow City, Crawford Co., IA. She was the daughter of Joseph Elmer Hallowell and Daisy Helen Glassburner. Marcia Janet Hallowell died on 22 January 1937 at Dow City, Crawford Co., IA, at age 17.

     Wilvy Vincent Mullen was buried at St. Rose Lima Cemetery, Denison, Crawford Co., IA. He was born on 5 December 1897. He married Mamie Helen Hallowell, daughter of Joseph Elmer Hallowell and Daisy Helen Glassburner, on 11 June 1942. Wilvy Vincent Mullen died on 10 June 1969 at Denison, Crawford Co., IA, at age 71.

     George was a graduate of the Dennison high school and was employeed by the Iowa state highway commission. George James Harvey was buried at Denison Cemetery, Denison, Crawford Co., IA. He was born on 19 November 1910 at Denison, Crawford Co., IA. He was the son of James R. Harvey. George James Harvey married Ada Lois Hallowell, daughter of Joseph Elmer Hallowell and Daisy Helen Glassburner, on 11 July 1936 at L'tle Brn Church, Nashua, Iowa. George James Harvey died on 9 August 1965 at Jefferson, Greene Co, Iowa, at age 54.

     Asa Talcott was born in 1801 at Dalton, MA. He was the son of Joseph Talcott Jr. and Rebecca Warren. Asa Talcott married Leona Caroline Newcomb, daughter of Captain Silas Newcomb and Eunice Burroughs, in 1820. Asa Talcott died in 1871 at Madison, Lake Co., OH.

     Martin Talcott was the son of Joseph Talcott Jr. and Rebecca Warren.

     Silas N. Talcott was the son of Joseph Talcott Jr. and Rebecca Warren.

     Leona Caroline Newcomb was born on 9 February 1804. She was the daughter of Captain Silas Newcomb and Eunice Burroughs. Leona Caroline Newcomb married Asa Talcott, son of Joseph Talcott Jr. and Rebecca Warren, in 1820. Leona Caroline Newcomb died in 1869.

     Eunice Euphrasia Talcott was the daughter of Asa Talcott and Leona Caroline Newcomb. Eunice Euphrasia Talcott married Philander Davis.

     Mary Angeline Talcott was the daughter of Asa Talcott and Leona Caroline Newcomb.

     Edward P. Talcott was the son of Asa Talcott and Leona Caroline Newcomb.

     Walter B. Talcott was the son of Asa Talcott and Leona Caroline Newcomb.

     Horace P. Talcott was the son of Asa Talcott and Leona Caroline Newcomb.

     Elvina C. Talcott was the daughter of Asa Talcott and Leona Caroline Newcomb.

     Lydia E. Talcott was the daughter of Asa Talcott and Leona Caroline Newcomb.
