     Sarah Ford was born on 19 July 1765. She was the daughter of John Ford and Sarah Wood. Sarah Ford married Joseph Holcombe, son of Joseph Holcombe and Elizabeth Wilcox, on 9 March 1784.

     Betsey Holcombe was born. She was the daughter of Joseph Holcombe and Elizabeth Wilcox.

     

Levi's wife Martha, is also attributed to Levi's cousin of the same name, son of Amos and Mary Dibble Holcombe. Levi Holcombe was born on 19 July 1767 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.² He was the son of Joseph Holcombe and Elizabeth Wilcox. Levi Holcombe married Martha Benjamin in May 1797 at North Granby, Granby, Hartford Co., CT. Levi Holcombe died on 17 January 1831 at North Granby, Granby, Hartford Co., CT, at age 63.²

     Martha Benjamin married Levi Holcombe, son of Joseph Holcombe and Elizabeth Wilcox, in May 1797 at North Granby, Granby, Hartford Co., CT. Martha Benjamin died on 15 March 1850.¹

     Amos Holcombe III was born in 1762 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Amos Holcombe and Mary Dibble. Amos Holcombe III married Mary Hall. Amos Holcombe III died on 17 March 1834 at Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT.

Lived Granville, MA, and Granby, Hartford Co., CT; moved in 1796 to Franklin Co., VT, where he is recorded in the Census of 1800 having males: 1, under 10 years; 1, 10-16; and 1, 26-45; and females: 2, under 10; and 1, 26-45. He was a member in 1802 of a Co. of Vt. State militia, under Caleb Hill, who came from Granville to guard the frontier, who together operated teh 1st ferry from Isle La Motte to Alburg under a grant from the Vermont Legislature of 1805-06. He was 1 of 20 volunteers, 5 of whom served with him in the War of 1812, filling a requisition for 1 Sgt. and 6 privates, whose services were in guarding the frontier in Capt. James Taylor's and Gideon spencer's companies 30th Vt. Regt. from May 28, 1813 until his death May, 1814 as shown by the Adjutant-General's records. Another record shows the death of Amos Holcombe, Isel La Motte, Mar 17, 1834.

     Mary Hall married Amos Holcombe III, son of Amos Holcombe and Mary Dibble.

     Belinda Holcombe was born on 8 December 1766 at Guildhall, Essex Co., VT. She was the daughter of Amos Holcombe and Mary Dibble. Belinda Holcombe married Nathaniel Hall, son of Enoch Hall and Sarah Merrill, on 4 July 1795 at Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT. Belinda Holcombe died on 13 August 1851 at age 84.¹ She died on 10 June 1853 at age 86.²

     Nathan Hall served in the Rev. War for 8 months, March to Nov 1780 in Lieut. Enoch Hall's (his father) Corps of Rangers of Vt. for the defence of the Northern Frontiers (VT. Rev War Rolls, pg 164.) he was not yet 12 years old, served as a Drummer Boy. His mother baked bread for the soldiers. In July 1840, he applied for a pension which was granted. After his death, his widow, Belinda, continued receiving his pension.

Nathaniel Hall moved with his father to Isle LaMotte in 1788. Here he is recorded in the 1790 US Census.

During the war fo 1812, nathaniel served from 23 Feb. 1813 to 22 may 1813 in Capt. Charles Follett's Co., 11th Regt.

He lived in Isle LaMotte until 1837 when he and family removed to Mooers, Clinton Co., NY. Nathaniel Hall was born in 1768. He was the son of Enoch Hall and Sarah Merrill. Nathaniel Hall married Belinda Holcombe, daughter of Amos Holcombe and Mary Dibble, on 4 July 1795 at Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT. Nathaniel Hall died in 1851.

     

Jesse was a member of a Company of Vt militia to guard the frontier in 1802, serving under Caleb Hill, hwo came from Granville, MA. This company had a grant from the VT legislature of 1805-6 to run the first ferry between Isle La Motte and Alburgh, both in Grand Isle Co., Vt.

Jesse had come there with his brother, Carmi, in 1796 from Granby, Ct. He is recorded in the census of 1800 in Franklin Co., VT with son under 10 years, daughter under 10 and wife, 26-45. Jesse Holcombe was born on 12 February 1770 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Amos Holcombe and Mary Dibble. Jesse Holcombe married Mehitable Winchell, daughter of David Winchell and Elizabeth Filley, in 1796. Jesse Holcombe died on 10 December 1846 at Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT, at age 76.

     Reported to be a grand-niece of Gov Winchell of CT. Allen L. Stratton, on page 338 of History of the Town of Isle la Motte, Vermont, states that Mehitable was the daughter of David and Mary (Griffin) Winchell of Wethersfield, CT.

Though Mehitable may have been related to Govenor Winchell of CT, this account of her parents is most likely incorrect.

First, David Winchell did not marry (2) Mary Griffin. She married (1) Samuel Wilson, (2) Anthony Hoskins. All of David's offspring are of (1) Elizabeth Filley. Mrs. Albert H. Chase, in her article "David Winchell (Robert1) of Suffield, Conn.," TAG 24:1, pp49-50, provides the evidence needed to remove this claim and state that "David Winchell had but one wife, elizabeth Filley, whom he married 17 November 1669, the mother of his children." Second, this David died in 1723.

Mehitable Winchell was born on 6 June 1777. She was the daughter of David Winchell and Elizabeth Filley. Mehitable Winchell married Jesse Holcombe, son of Amos Holcombe and Mary Dibble, in 1796. Mehitable Winchell died on 14 April 1854 at Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT, at age 76.

     Levi Holcombe was born. He was the son of Amos Holcombe and Mary Dibble.

Levi does not appear in McPherson or Seaver.

Levi's wife Martha, is also attributed to Levi's cousin of the same name, son of Joseph and Elizabeth Wilcox Holcombe.

     Chloe Holcombe lived at Chazy, Clinton Co., NY. She was born on 30 August 1781. She was the daughter of Amos Holcombe and Mary Dibble.

     Betsey Post married Elijah Holcombe, son of Elijah Holcombe and Violet Cornish, in 1802.

     Betsey Ives married Elijah Holcombe, son of Elijah Holcombe and Violet Cornish, in 1807. Betsey Ives died Marach 5, 1845.¹

     Maryette Holcombe was born in 1817. She was the daughter of Carlos Holcombe and Mercy Hayes. Maryette Holcombe died in 1869.

     Cassandra Holcombe was born circa 1826 at NY.¹ She was the daughter of Carlos Holcombe and Mercy Hayes.

     Carlos Holcombe was the son of Carlos Holcombe and Charlotte (?).

     Charlotte Holcombe was born circa 1831 at NY. She was the daughter of Carlos Holcombe and Charlotte (?).

     Almira Holcombe was born circa 1834 at NY.¹ She was the daughter of Carlos Holcombe and Charlotte (?).

     Eliza V. Holcombe was born circa 1837 at NY.¹ She was the daughter of Carlos Holcombe and Charlotte (?).

     N. Eugene Holcombe was born circa 1839 at NY.¹ He was the son of Carlos Holcombe and Charlotte (?).

     Chauncey L. Holcombe was born circa 1841 at NY.¹ He was the son of Carlos Holcombe and Charlotte (?).

     Ellen J. Holcombe was born circa 1845 at NY.¹ She was the daughter of Carlos Holcombe and Charlotte (?).

     Mary Ella Hurlburt was born circa 1854. She was the daughter of Malcolm Douglas Hurlburt and Lucy Ann Holcombe.

     Lucy Eva Hurlburt was born circa 1857. She was the daughter of Malcolm Douglas Hurlburt and Lucy Ann Holcombe.

     Douglas Monroe Hurlburt was born on 29 March 1858. He was the son of Malcolm Douglas Hurlburt and Lucy Ann Holcombe. Douglas Monroe Hurlburt died on 31 August 1864 at age 6.

     Lettie Jane Hurlburt was born on 29 September 1860. She was the daughter of Malcolm Douglas Hurlburt and Lucy Ann Holcombe.

     Watson Hurlburt was born. He was the son of Malcolm Douglas Hurlburt and Lucy Ann Holcombe.

     Guy F. Hurlburt was born on 13 November 1866. He was the son of Malcolm Douglas Hurlburt and Lucy Ann Holcombe.

     Genevieve Hurlburt was born on 29 September 1871. She was the daughter of Malcolm Douglas Hurlburt and Lucy Ann Holcombe.

     Isaac Edwin Hurlburt was born on 14 November 1861 at Hurlburt family farm, Colesville, Broome Co., NY. He was the son of Isaac Anderson Hurlburt Jr. and Mary Ellen Holcombe. Isaac Edwin Hurlburt lived on 18 June 1900 at Colesville, Broome Co., NY. He died in January 1947 at Pasadena, Los Angeles Co., CA, at age 85. He was buried on 14 January 1947 at Live Oak Memorial Park.

     Abbie Estelle Hurlburt was born on 6 April 1864. She was the daughter of Isaac Anderson Hurlburt Jr. and Mary Ellen Holcombe. Abbie Estelle Hurlburt lived on 12 June 1900 at Binghamton, Broome Co., NY. She died on 30 September 1901 at age 37.

     Douglas Elias Hurlburt was born on 24 August 1866 at NY. He was the son of Isaac Anderson Hurlburt Jr. and Mary Ellen Holcombe. Douglas Elias Hurlburt lived on 18 June 1900 at Colesville, Broome Co., NY. He lived in 1922 at Pasadena, Los Angeles Co., CA. He died in 1966.

     Nellie Asenath Hurlburt was born on 19 November 1868. She was the daughter of Isaac Anderson Hurlburt Jr. and Mary Ellen Holcombe. Nellie Asenath Hurlburt lived on 13 June 1900 at Cooperstown, Ostego Co., NY. She lived in 1922 at Pasadena, Los Angeles Co., CA.

     Clarence Anderson Hurlburt was born in September 1873 at NY. He was the son of Isaac Anderson Hurlburt Jr. and Mary Ellen Holcombe. Clarence Anderson Hurlburt lived on 12 June 1900 at Binghamton, Broome Co., NY. He lived in 1922 at Mellenville, Columbia Co., NY.

     Whitford Van Dusen married Sarah Maria Holcombe, daughter of Edwin Smith Holcombe and Asenath Colt Case. Whitford Van Dusen lived in September 1914 at Canada.

     Vera Mae Hurlburt was born on 17 October 1892 at Colesville, Broome Co., NY. She was the daughter of Isaac Edwin Hurlburt and Jennie Louise Howe. Vera Mae Hurlburt was confirmed on 20 September 1907 at St. George's Church, Chadwicks, NY. She lived on 10 February 1911 at Chadwicks, Oneida Co., NY. She and an unknown person were divorced on 9 November 1934 at Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., CA. She and an unknown person were divorced on 21 January 1935 at Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., CA. She died on 24 September 1980 at Respiratory arrest, Long Beach, Los Angles Co., CA, at age 87. She was buried on 27 September 1980 at Inglewood Park Cemetary, Inglewood, Los Angeles Co., CA.

A riveter in World War II. She was born on the family farm in Broome County, NY. When she was two years old, she pulled a dipper of boiling water from the stove over her head. He mother grabbed her and dipped her headfirst into a barrel of rainwater outside. It was winter and the water was very cold. The doctor was called and it was his opinion that this probably saved her life. She enjoyed living in the country. She attended New Hartford High School, in New Hartford, NY. This was a four-mile walk from the farm. When she was 14 she spent her summer vacation working 48 hours per week in a silk mill. She spent the following two summers working 60 hours per week in a weaving mill. She moved to California in 1912. She attended business school at night and when she was 20 she got a job in a doctor's office and worked there for three years as his private secretary. She worked at McConnell Douglas as a riveter during World War II. In her later life, she enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and the Rebecca's Lodge. When interviewed in 1979, she said that of any age, she would have liked to have been 20 again. It was at this age that she most enjoyed life, being free from her mother's apron strings. She remembered her father as being a quiet farmer and felt secure with him. He enjoyed parties and dances. She remembered her mother as being a wonderful, ambitious person.      Ruth Ellen Hurlburt was born on 20 January 1894 at Colesville, Broome Co., NY. She was the daughter of Isaac Edwin Hurlburt and Jennie Louise Howe. Ruth Ellen Hurlburt died on 19 September 1970 at Pasadena, Los Angeles Co., CA, at age 76.

     Leon Douglas Hurlburt was born on 7 February 1897. He was the son of Douglas Elias Hurlburt and Nellie M. Potter. Leon Douglas Hurlburt died in 1967.

     Paul Hurlburt was born on 6 September 1903. He was the son of Douglas Elias Hurlburt and Nellie M. Potter. Paul Hurlburt died in February 1981 at CA at age 77.
