     Ella A. Hall was born on 12 August 1855 at Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT. She was the daughter of William E. Hall and Joanna E. Thomas. Ella A. Hall married William Arthur Soule, son of William Timothy Soule and Hannah Howe Learned, on 20 August 1879 at Alburg, Grand Isle, VT. Ella A. Hall died on 3 January 1933 at Alburg, Grand Isle, VT, at age 77.

     William Arthur Soule was born on 7 September 1852 at Alburg, Grand Isle, VT. He was the son of William Timothy Soule and Hannah Howe Learned. William Arthur Soule married Ella A. Hall, daughter of William E. Hall and Joanna E. Thomas, on 20 August 1879 at Alburg, Grand Isle, VT. William Arthur Soule died on 11 February 1921 at Alburg, Grand Isle Co., VT, at age 68.

     Milan Virgil Soule was born on 11 September 1880 at Alburg, Grand Isle, VT. He was the son of William Arthur Soule and Ella A. Hall. Milan Virgil Soule married Lillie May Hemingway, daughter of George Alfred Hemingway and Cynthia Gilbere, on 28 June 1904 at Alburg, Grand Isle, VT. Milan Virgil Soule died on 24 October 1947 at Milford, New Haven Co., CT, at age 67.

     Lillie May Hemingway was born on 1 April 1886 at Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT. She was the daughter of George Alfred Hemingway and Cynthia Gilbere. Lillie May Hemingway married Milan Virgil Soule, son of William Arthur Soule and Ella A. Hall, on 28 June 1904 at Alburg, Grand Isle, VT. Lillie May Hemingway died on 24 December 1940 at Alburg, Grand Isle, VT, at age 54.

     William John Soule was born on 15 November 1906 at Alburg, Grand Isle, VT. He was the son of Milan Virgil Soule and Lillie May Hemingway. William John Soule died on 14 February 1985 at American Fork, UT, at age 78.

     Cara Lyn Verdoorn was born on 1 September 1963 at Madison, Dane Co., WI. She was the daughter of Peter Dirk Verdoorn and Joan Lillian Soule.

     Deacon Ichabod Smith was born on 24 January 1670 at Northampton, Hampshire Co., MA.¹ He was the son of Deacon Samuel Smith and Mary Ensign.¹ Deacon Ichabod Smith married Mary Huxley, daughter of Thomas Huxley and Sarah Spencer, in 1692 at Suffield, Hartford Co., CT.¹ Deacon Ichabod Smith died on 27 January 1744 or 27 January 1751 at Suffield, Hartford Co., CT.¹

     Mary Huxley was born in 1670 at Hartford, Hartford Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Thomas Huxley and Sarah Spencer. Mary Huxley married Deacon Ichabod Smith, son of Deacon Samuel Smith and Mary Ensign, in 1692 at Suffield, Hartford Co., CT.¹ Mary Huxley died on 22 January 1751 at Suffield, Hartford Co., CT.¹

     Fredrick Winthrop married Hannah (?). Fredrick Winthrop died between 26 April 1790 and 14 September 1790.

     Fredrick Winthrop Holcombe was born in 1789 at Poquonock, Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.⁴ He was the son of Roderick Holcombe and Rebecca Winthrop. Fredrick Winthrop Holcombe married Keziah Wood.

Was sent by Fredrick Winthrop, his maternal grandfather, of Connecticut, to explore a tract of 300 acres which he had bought on the West shore of Canandaigua Lake, including both Holcombe Point and Seneca Point (Holcombe Point is now known as Cooks Point). He remained in that vicinity and married and built a home on the North side of Holcombe Point. He taught the first school in South Bristol.

Fredrick and Keziah were enumerated in the 1860 South Bristol, Ontario Co., NY, federal census. He was a farmer age 70, she was 66. A child Ann Eliza age 14, born in NY was enumerated with them; this could be Frederick Cicero's child.

"Winthrop", age 80, was enumerated in the 1870 South Bristol, Ontario Co., NY, federal census in the household of Jos. S. Penoyer and his wife Ann. Ann was 57. Also enumerated in the household was Harriet Holcomb 21.

     Keziah Wood was born in 1794 at VT. She married Fredrick Winthrop Holcombe, son of Roderick Holcombe and Rebecca Winthrop.

     Clarissa remained in Connecticut when her brothers and sisters removed to Holcomb Point, Ontario Co., NY. Clarissa Holcombe was the daughter of Roderick Holcombe and Rebecca Winthrop. Clarissa Holcombe married Elijah Southworth Watrous, son of Elijah Waterhous and Anna Southworth.

     Electa Holcombe was the daughter of Roderick Holcombe and Rebecca Winthrop.

     Pyramus Holcombe was born on 5 February 1795 at Poquonock, Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Roderick Holcombe and Rebecca Winthrop. Pyramus Holcombe married Lucy Watkins. Pyramus Holcombe died in 1870.

"Pyra" was among 60 men volunteering at Ft. Trumbull, Feb 13, 1813 to go to the defense of New London, CT, in the War of 1812. He moved to Bristol, Ontario Co., NY.

     Lucy Watkins married Pyramus Holcombe, son of Roderick Holcombe and Rebecca Winthrop.

     Alfred was about 19 years old when he moved with his parents from Windsor, Ct, to Naples, Ontario Co., NY. In 1828 he went to Macinaw, MI, selling clothing to soldiers. He returned to NY State then moved to Athens Twp., Calhoun Co., MI, where he died.

     Anna Stone was born in 1808 at Ontario Co., NY. She was the daughter of Asahel Stone and Ann Rebecca Gurnsey. Anna Stone married Alfred Holcombe. Anna Stone died in 1898 at Calhoun Co., MI.

     Amanda Holcombe was born at Poquonock, Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Roderick Holcombe and Rebecca Winthrop. Amanda Holcombe witnessed the marriage of Sanford Brown and Adeline Patience Holcombe on 18 November 1840 at South Bristol, Ontario Co., NY.¹

Could the 60 something "Perry" Holcombe living next door be brother "Pyramus" Holcombe?

     Died unmarried. Buell Holcombe was born at Poquonock, Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Roderick Holcombe and Rebecca Winthrop.

     Emily visited her nephew, Theodore Isaac Holcomb in New York City and there met Dr. William Frederick Holcombe and through his dillignece preserved much of her extensive knowledge of her Holcomb ancestry and their descent. Emily Catherine Holcombe was born at Poquonock, Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Roderick Holcombe and Rebecca Winthrop.

     Seaver and Bowman differ on the wife. If the children listed by Bowman are correct, then Anne Horner couldn't have been first wife. If Sophia's date of death listed by Bowman as 1851 is correct then Jabez is a bigamist. Sophia Godard was born in 1771. She died in 1851.

     Samuel Smith was born on 5 November 1700 at Suffield, Hartford Co., CT.¹ He was the son of Deacon Ichabod Smith and Mary Huxley. Samuel Smith married Jerusha Mather, daughter of Atherton Mather and Rebecca Stoughton, on 8 November 1725.¹ Samuel Smith died on 25 August 1767 at Suffield, Hartford Co., CT, at age 66.¹
