     Frederick D. Alderman was born on 16 February 1857.¹ He was the son of Albert Eugene Alderman and Susan Alderman.¹ Frederick D. Alderman died on 5 July 1882 at age 25.¹

     Byron V. Swan was born on 16 February 1843 at West Springfield, Hampden Co., MA.¹ He was the son of H. Almon Swan and Esther Deborah Alderman.¹ Byron V. Swan died in 1864; single.¹

Byron was a member of the Union Army during the War Between the States, and died in the Confederate prison at Danville, VA.²

     Nelson A. Swan was born on 25 December 1844 at West Springfield, Hampden Co., MA.¹ He was the son of H. Almon Swan and Esther Deborah Alderman.¹ Nelson A. Swan died before 1850.¹

     Fidelia Swan was born on 2 March 1847 at Oakfield, Fond Du Lac Co., WI.¹ She was the daughter of H. Almon Swan and Esther Deborah Alderman.¹

     Norman Van Buren Holcombe was born on 18 September 1836 at Windham, Greene Co., NY.^1,2 He was the son of Homer Holcombe and Margaret Benham.¹ Norman Van Buren Holcombe married Mahala Phelps, daughter of Silas Phelps and Roxanna Crow, in April 1859.^3,2 Norman Van Buren Holcombe died on 22 January 1916 at Prattsville, Greene Co., NY, at age 79.³ He was buried at Fairlawn Cemetery, Prattsville, Greene Co., NY.²

Norman and Mahala were enumerated in the 1870 Windham, Greene Co., NY, federal census, page 18. He was a farmer age 34, she was 31. Children in the household were Margaret 10, Anna 8, Homer 6, Ida 5, Luta 3, and Frank 3 months.

Norman and Mahala were enumerated in the 1880 Windham, Greene Co., NY, federal census, page 14. He was a farmer age 43, she was 41. Children in the houehold were Homer 16, Ida 14, Frances 10, Mahala M. 8, Pearl 3, and Baby 8 months.

Mahala's obituary stated that she was a resident of Prattsville for over a quater of a century, so they probably moved there about 1884.

      Homer C. Holcombe also went by the name of Cap Holcombe. He was born on 5 November 1863 at Big Hollow (now Maplecrest), Greene Co., NY.¹ He was the son of Norman Van Buren Holcombe and Mahala Phelps.¹ Homer C. Holcombe married Cora Nina Rose, daughter of Elijah Rose and Martha Cotton, on 1 February 1885 at Prattsville, Greene Co., NY.^2,3 Homer C. Holcombe died on 30 March 1957 at Beaches Corners, NY, at age 93.³

     Shirley Leslie Holcombe was born on 7 April 1901 at Prattsville, Greene Co., NY.^2,4 He was the son of Homer C. Holcombe and Cora Nina Rose.³ Shirley Leslie Holcombe married Dorothy Elizabeth Clark, daughter of Sterns Clark and Almina Doty, on 10 November 1920.^1,2 Shirley Leslie Holcombe died on 28 July 1983 at Latham, Albany Co., NY, at age 82.^2,4
