     Zechariah Chafee was born on 30 April 1859. He was the son of Zechariah Chafee and Mary Frances (?). Zechariah Chafee married Mary Dexter Sharpe. Zechariah Chafee married Mary Dexter Sharpe. Zechariah Chafee died on 8 July 1943 at age 84.

     Mary Dexter Sharpe was born in 1860. She married Zechariah Chafee, son of Zechariah Chafee and Mary Frances (?).

     Zechariah Chafee was born in 1815 at Providence, Providence Co., RI. He was the son of Zechariah Chafee and Mary Eddy. Zechariah Chafee married Mary Frances (?) in 1845. Zechariah Chafee died on 30 March 1889. He was buried at Swan Point Cemetery, Providence, Providence Co., RI.

     Mary Frances (?) was born circa 1825 at MA. She married Zechariah Chafee, son of Zechariah Chafee and Mary Eddy, in 1845. Mary Frances (?) died on 12 May 1901.

     Zechariah Chafee was born on 21 December 1785 at Providence, Providence Co., RI.¹ He was the son of Amos Chaffee and Sarah Munroe. Zechariah Chafee married Mary Eddy. Zechariah Chafee died on 6 July 1840 at Providence, Providence Co., RI, at age 54.

     Mary Eddy was born in 1786. She married Zechariah Chafee, son of Amos Chaffee and Sarah Munroe.

      Amos Chaffee was also known as Amos Chaffe. He was born on 11 December 1750 at Rehoboth, Bristol Co., MA.² He was the son of Thomas Chaffee Jr. and Rebecca Hunt.¹ Amos Chaffee married Sarah Munroe on 22 February 1775. Amos Chaffee died on 9 March 1793 at at sea at age 42.²

     Sarah Munroe was born on 15 May 1754 at Rehoboth, Bristol Co., MA. She married Amos Chaffee, son of Thomas Chaffee Jr. and Rebecca Hunt, on 22 February 1775.

     Orson W. Alderman was born on 19 October 1819.¹ He was the son of Orson A. Alderman and Hannah Harmon.¹

     Ruth H. Alderman was born on 5 January 1822.¹ She was the daughter of Orson A. Alderman and Hannah Harmon.¹

     Charles T. Alderman was born on 9 January 1824.¹ He was the son of Orson A. Alderman and Hannah Harmon.¹ Charles T. Alderman died in 1884.¹

     M. Delos Alderman was born on 21 June 1826.¹ He was the son of Orson A. Alderman and Hannah Harmon.¹

     Mary E. Alderman was born on 7 February 1830.¹ She was the daughter of Orson A. Alderman and Hannah Harmon.¹ Mary E. Alderman married Edward D. Langdon on 24 December 1848.¹ Mary E. Alderman died on 24 July 1876 at age 46.¹

Mary and Edward lived in Starke County. They lived in Illinois for a while and then moved on to Iowa, where her four youngest children were born.²

     Edward D. Langdon was born on 20 September 1826.¹ He married Mary E. Alderman, daughter of Orson A. Alderman and Hannah Harmon, on 24 December 1848.¹ Edward D. Langdon died on 21 August 1900 at age 73.¹

     S. Celia Alderman was born on 5 October 1833.¹ She was the daughter of Orson A. Alderman and Hannah Harmon.¹

     John L. Alderman was born on 15 July 1836.¹ He was the son of Orson A. Alderman and Hannah Harmon.¹

     H. Jane Alderman was born on 21 February 1844.¹ She was the daughter of Orson A. Alderman and Hannah Harmon.¹

     Lora A. Langdon was born on 13 January 1850.¹ She was the daughter of Edward D. Langdon and Mary E. Alderman.¹ Lora A. Langdon died on 24 October 1868 at age 18.¹

     Ida S. Langdon was born on 23 February 1852.¹ She was the daughter of Edward D. Langdon and Mary E. Alderman.¹

     Ethel H. Langdon was born on 6 February 1855.¹ She was the daughter of Edward D. Langdon and Mary E. Alderman.¹

     Jay R. Langdon was born on 19 October 1858.¹ He was the son of Edward D. Langdon and Mary E. Alderman.¹

     Jessie E. Langdon was born on 30 June 1866.¹ He was the son of Edward D. Langdon and Mary E. Alderman.¹ Jessie E. Langdon died on 2 December 1942 at age 76.¹

     Minnie May Langdon was born on 19 June 1868.¹ She was the daughter of Edward D. Langdon and Mary E. Alderman.¹ Minnie May Langdon died on 7 May 1873 at age 4.¹

     Ed Martin Langdon was born on 24 August 1871.¹ He was the son of Edward D. Langdon and Mary E. Alderman.¹ Ed Martin Langdon died on 17 September 1947 at age 76.¹

     Frank Bidwell Alderman was born in 1852.¹ He was the son of Henry Smith Alderman and Agnes Jane Berhan.¹

      Sylvester Phelps Alderman was also known as Phelps Alderman. He was born on 16 January 1809.² He was the son of Timothy Alderman II and Mercy Holcombe.¹ Sylvester Phelps Alderman married Hannah Bell on 4 August 1832 at Ashtabula Co., OH.^1,2 Sylvester Phelps Alderman died on 17 November 1875 at age 66.³

Sylvester and Hannah were enumerated in the 1850 Hartsgrove, Ashtabula Co., OH, federal census, dwelling 1145, family 1182. He was a farmer age 41, born in Ohio; she was 35, born in VT. Children in the household were Mary L. age 16, Laton R. age 14, Olenthus G. 12, Anne 10, Lucy A. 8, Urissa E. 6, Anthon 4, Verona 2, and Emerson 1.

The Alderman Genealogy reports that Emerson was born in 1852 which conflicts with this census information.

Sylvester and Hannah were enumerated in the 1860 Hartsgrove, Ashtabula Co., OH, federal census, page 139 as "P. Allman" and "H." He was a farmer, age 50, born in Ohio; she was 40, also born in Ohio as were all the children. Children in the household were Mary 25, Layton 23, Olinthus, Jane 19, Lucy 17, Eurissa 15, Anthon 8, Emmerson 7, Dudle 4, A. 3, and unnamed 1.

Hannah was enumerated in the 1880 Hartsgrove, Ashtabula Co., OH, federal census, ED 12, page 13. She was 63 and daughter Ellen age 35 was also in the household.

     Hannah Bell was born in 1815.² She married Sylvester Phelps Alderman, son of Timothy Alderman II and Mercy Holcombe, on 4 August 1832 at Ashtabula Co., OH.^1,3 Hannah Bell died in 1887.

     Olinthus G. Alderman was born in March 1837 at OH.^2,3 He was the son of Sylvester Phelps Alderman and Hannah Bell.¹ Olinthus G. Alderman married Laura Allen.²

Olmthus G. and Laura A. were enumerated in the 1880 Township 97, Turner Co., Dakota Territory. He was a Dentist, age 43, she was 28. Children in the household were Leighton R. 7, and Rena B. 5.


Olinthus G. was enumerated in the 1900 Hurley Twp, Turner Co., SD, federal census. He was widowed, a dentist, age 63, living alone. However, Laura A. was enumerated in Swanlake Twp., Turner Co., SD. She was a farmer age 48. Children in the household were Leighton R. 27, and Rena B. 25.
