Ogilvie served during the Civil War as a Corporal in Company G of the 19th Iowa Voluntary Infantry.²

James was enumerated in the 1920 Simsbury census, with his wife Sophie and five children. They had a housekeeper Emma. They were farming the property adjacent to his father William, where his brothers Wilbur and Davis were still working.

     Sophie D. (?) was born circa 1877. She married James M. Stocking, son of William Alonzo Stocking and Serinda Delanoy. Sophie D. (?) died on 31 July 1950 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.¹

     Milton Stocking was born circa 1904. He was the son of James M. Stocking and Sophie D. (?). Milton Stocking died on 18 December 1978 at Hartford, Hartford Co., CT.¹

     Wilbur Stocking was born on 27 August 1913.¹ He was the son of James M. Stocking and Sophie D. (?). Wilbur Stocking died on 10 September 1987 at Hampton, CT, at age 74.¹
